I'm an avid and constant family tree researcher and live in Colorado Springs so I'd be happy to find a local grave for those that are non-local or unable to travel. I'm also happy to shoot additional photos or take special requests / assignments.|
If I'm currently managing a close relative's memorial and you'd like me to transfer the management over to you just send me a request. Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Be sure to explain your relationship in the request.
Your tombstone stands among the rest;
In this field of green.
The name and date are chiseled out
For all the world to see.
It reaches out to all who care
It is too late to mourn.
You did not know that I'd exist,
You died long before I was born.
Yet we are of one, you and I,
In flesh, in blood, in bone.
Our blood contracts and beats a pulse
Entirely not our own.
Dear Ancestor, the life you lived
One hundred years ago
Spreads out among the ones you left
Who would have loved you so.
I wonder if you lived and loved,
I wonder if you knew
That someday I would find this spot,
And come to visit you."

BEST BIO PICTURE EVER !!
|Stacey Foley||RE: Thank you|
Yor very welcome and I think you did thank me, but it was my pleasure!
|Jan Lange||RE: Ethel M. Wisdom|
You, sir, have a sense of humor! I was really glad to leave that name behind at one time because of all the flak I took, now I wish it was still mine. Indeed the Wisdoms are a wise clan, at least a wise-cracking clan. Thanks for the memorial - my mom and dad were the best!! Nice meeting you.
|Cathy Smith||RE: O. G. Newton|
It was no problem. I really enjoy it.

Hello, Mr. Pierce ---
Thank you so much for doing what you do.
It was exciting to find the location and photo of the grave of my great-great-grandmother, Elizabeth Mills Campbell. From there I went to the page for her husband, Edward A. Campbell, and then Edward's second wife, Catherine Hayes Campbell.
FYI: Just within the past ten years I have confirmed their final resting place: It is not in the Lutheran (Ellsworth) Cemetery, but rather in the adjoining Catholic one, across the road from St. John's Catholic Church in Darwin MN. Many of the other Campbell relatives are buried at Calvary Cemetery in Litchfield MN or else at St. Gertrude's Cemetery in Forest City MN. Both these communities are within 10-15 miles of the two Darwin cemeteries.
Again, thank you for helping me confirm my g-g-grandmother's grave. I join many others in your debt.

All the stones are in a straight line including the large headstone. The smaller stones are not to one side or the other. I got the last names for Henry F., Susie J., and Isaac H. from the West Liberty Library site. As you noticed they do not say a last name on these smaller markers. That is why I wondered if Susie was Henry's wife and was a Filson. Maybe Isaac was her father.

Yes, there are five buried near the Lewis-Filson headstone. I meant to add that to the caption on his headstone. I added it this morning. I think I added who was adjacent to who on all the other 4 headstones.
I have taken pictures of Inez and Lon Lewis. I have looked them up in the Census and this Inez M. Lewis was a wife to Lon Lewis. I will need to add a memorial for Lon, but you may want to remove her as the wife of Henry Fletcher Lewis.
Do you know who the Susie J. Lewis was buried next to Henry F.? I noticed she is about the same age. Was Susie J. a Filson and that is why they are all buried there?

My pleasure Henry, BTW I love your poem about Ancestors, May I copy and use it?
