My husband Den and I were born and raised in Louisville, Ky. We love it here and would never leave Kentucky. We were married in 1971 at Duncan Memorial Chapel in Crestwood, Ky. Den is of German, Irish and English ancestry. I have mostly Irish, Scottish and a little German and English.
When I lost my Mother in 2001 I almost lost my mind (I am an only child who could not have children) so I started working hard at genealogy, it worked and I got better. My Moma was the nicest, funniest, greatest person I have ever known to date. My Dad was big, bad, and adorable and died much too young at 66 years of age. There was always the "three" of us, so losing them was worse than anything in my life.
In a nutshell genealogy saved my life and sanity.
I am going through the Mortuary Reports and Death Certificates for Jefferson County, Ky, and many other counties in Kentucky and some in Southern Indiana, trying to add them on find a grave to make sure cemeteries are listed with the people buried there because so many records were lost over the years, this is my way of making new records by adding them on find a grave.
I have no problem transferring memorials to people who are related to the people on the memorials unless Den or I are directly related to them. Just ask.
Please smell the roses, do not touch the thorns, life is too short!
