I live in the Lexington, Kentucky area and have been interested in genealogy since I was a teenager. I began my early research transcribing my maternal grandmother's recollections of family history, and then verifying and documenting her memories with census records and tombstone inscriptions. |
I am strictly an amateur, but am committed to being as methodical and accurate as possible. I prefer to only list memorials for graves I have visited and photographed. In addition, since I found Find A Grave, I happily photograph graves of non-relatives in nearby cemeteries. I want to help people find their ancestors and loved ones so they are not forgotten.
If you find I am managing a relative's memorial, contact me. I will happily transfer a memorial, unless it is someone I am more closely related to.

I am a Vermont Civil War buff, and am presently working on a project to identify the last resting places of many of our "old soldiers" that had ties to Vt. Horace Doten is one such patriot. May I use the photo that you contributed to his Find A Grave Mamorial, to post on the Vt.C.W.site? ( www.vermontcivilwar.org
You will receive credit for this.
Thank you for your consideration.
Hi Penelope, a question from a newbie-I also looked for Isaac and started in the Old Episcopal Burying Ground whose records stated he's in the Lexington Cemetery which I did find. He now has 2 Find A Graves. I had this happen with another man, but can't find out what we're suppose to do. Do you know? Isaac's are the same and my other gentleman is the same.Wendy
|T Griggs||Re: Irvin C. Dunaway|
Thank you so very much for posting the headstone of my grandfather, Irvin C. Dunaway. He was born Feb 8, 1922 and died at the early age of 22 on 5/4/1946 just a little over a month before my mother was born. My mother Wanda Dunaway was his only child, and they never even met. I had no idea that he was buried in Lexington National Cemetery. I will be paying him a visit.
If you have any further information on my grandfather I would really love to have it. I would like to be able to find some of my family on his side. I met some of them once when I was a small child, and have never seen them again.
