I honor these ancestors with a small memorial.|
I will share any information you may be interested in having or add more that you want to add. You may use all photos and histories and information --
I'm grateful to the vast number of people who volunteer their time to get my pictures!! Thank you.
PLEASE note: I cannot "add" children or siblings. You have to make the "link" as a request on that persons memorial as an Edit -- and use the Find A Grave Memorial# when you make the request. If there is not an existing memorial for the sibling or child, you can create a new memorial and make the "links" yourself. It's not as simple as just typing in the name, it is actually linked to a memorial of the person and requires time, research and sourcing of where the person is buried.
PLEASE make ALL corrections, added history or additional information, links to parents or spouse, and transfer requests via the "edit tab" on the memorial.
I follow findagrave guidelines for transfer requests: Editing & Correcting Memorial Information: Click on: "How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?"

I am related to ALL the DeSpains as the NC branch migrated to Green County, Kentucky. I've learned that many migrated from Greensburg, Hodgenville (LaRue County, KY) and Campbellsville (Taylor County, KY) to ILLINOIS, TEXAS, and then out west to ARIZONA, WYOMING & UTAH.
The Western DeSpains converted to the Mormon religion. My Green Cty, KY branch moved to southern Indiana (New Albany) and Louisville, KY.
I'm descended from the immigrant, Jean DeSpaigne that moved from France to England in the late 1500's.

Dear L -
From one "L" to another, I have really enjoyed your pages on here. I can only imagine the blood, sweat, tears, and time you put into this line. I am a DIRECT DESCENDENT of the DeSpains. This is my FAVORITE line of all of my ancestral lines. Thank you so much for your contributions to this extraordinary line of ancestors!

|Eric Cole||Pam Thompson|
Hello, in a message that you sent to HESM regarding Clarissa Cole/Lydia Paine you referenced information provided by Pam Thompson. I believe that she is updating a book on the descendants of James Cole, and I would like to contact her and exchange information. I am a James Cole descendant via James>Hugh>John>John>Isaac>Burden>Nathaniel.Horatio>Erastus>Waldo etc and would like to provide information for her book. Would it be possible to provide her contact information or at least provide her my find a grave contact information should she wish to contact me?
Any help that you could provide would be appreciated.

Thank you for adding this photo. I am her descendent through her daughter, Leah McNeil Lee. I was wondering the source of the photo. Also, where you got the photo for her husband, Danial McNeil? I can also be contacted at email@example.com

I can't thank you enough for posting the link to this land petition on Eleanor Barry Sanford's page. Family legend said we had Tories in our lineage. This is the first time I've seen actual proof. Thank you for this important genealogical find.

|Anonymous||Patrick Barry Sr.|
For anyone researching the Patrick Barry and Deborah Smith family, on the Library and Archives Canada site on-line there is a land petition for Patrick Barry Sr. (the date on the petition looks like it's 1811) and attached to it is the petition by his son Thomas (petition date 1819). The petition can be downloaded. The petition tells Patrick's life story and tracks his movements after his arrival in America. It's quite an amazing story.
|J||Relative of Elizabeth brother Miles Conrad|
Miles Conrad brother of Elizabeth Conrad Hooks married and had a daughter Sarah Conrad who married Dickens. They had a daughter who married Mooney, and they had a daughter, my mother. I think it makes him my mother's great grandfather.
I was hoping to get photographs of miles and his family and wondered what you could share with me regarding the family.
This site was most informative - did the stories came from journals?
I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org
