Bio and Links
Bio Photo I moved to North-Central Kansas in late 2008, which gave me a whole new starting place for family history research! My grandmother Elsa Opal Long Vandecar (1896-1996) was the family historian, and for the last 15 years or so I've been trying to continue her legacy.

You are welcome to copy any of my gravestone photos onto other genealogy or family history websites; no need to credit me. Helping other family historians by gathering those photos is my way of paying forward all the help I've received!

Herrs memorial #113818796
Why is this in Find A Grave when the person is still living? Both Verlin and Lola were alive when it was put in.. He has since passed away.
On a personal note, we have a pre-need stone in the cemetery (Washington City Cemetery) but we are both very much alive, I find this disconcerting to post names this way.
By the way, we added the photo with Verlin's date of passing.

Thanks so very much for posting headstone pictures of my great grandparents in the Belleville, KS cemetery. I've looked often hoping it would get done and I'm over 4 hours away, so I appreciate your taking the picture, and with such good quality that you can read the stone. What a joy you have given me.
