I live in Kanawha County, West Virginia and have my whole life. I started doing genealogy with my mom in 2007 after my grandmother passed away. We both wish that we had started a lot sooner because there are a lot of questions that we have. |
Wheatcraft, Worley, Bush/Busch, Pierson/Pearson, Bias, Woods, Debolt/Dewalt are a few of the surnames in my family.
In 2011 I grew interest in researching the Putney Cemetery located up Campbells Creek in what used to be Putney, WV. This was an old coal mining community that was around from about 1900-1950. I visited it in March and photographed what I thought to be all of the headstones but when looking up death records there are a lot more graves than I found.
If you have any questions about any of my memorials please feel free to ask me. I will give you whatever information that I have for that person or family.

Amanda, I have been helping Carl Samples with Putney Cemetery. Do you have any information about Margie? The only Van Sickle that I have been able to find was a Charles E. Vansickle who lived with a Bowe family in the 1910 Census of the Malden District. Charles was 9/12 months old.
Later on Minnie Bowe married a Daniel Eli Van Sickle and that is who Charles has listed on his death certificate as his parents. There is also a William Maywood Vansickle who has as his birth place Putney and Daniel and Minnie are his parents. But I cannot find one thing out about Margie. It seems to be quite a mystery. I assume you are descended from Henry Clay Bias since his memorial was turned over to you. I am descended from a brother of Henry Clay Bias, Lindsey Franklin Bias and I would love to share some photos I have of Henry Clay with you.
Please contact me directly
We were in contact in the past BEFORE my computer crashed, but I now longer have your email address.

Hello Amanda ~
Thank you for the links, I have added them. Do you have any information about Lewis Bush's military service? There was a flag on his grave when I visited, but no info on the gravestone. I would love to add any information about his service. Thanks! Ed ~

Your work is greatly appreciated!
|Lindsey Bowden||The McCray Family|
Thank you so very much for adding the McCray graves that are in Wirt County, West Virginia. They are my paternal grandmother's family. It means so much to me, as I live over 600 miles away and might never be able to go to their graves personally.
