Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Jane Knowles-Hall. I have just rediscovered this site. My husband and I have 5 children and 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. I am retired. In my few moments of spare time I find myself researching family history. As I walk the many cemeteries, I take pictures of graves, some are members of my family others are not. I am so glad that I can share my finds with others.
I have a blog on my genealogy finds. The address is:
At the blog I post pictures, stories and obituaries. If you have someone in my area that you would like for me to look-up feel free to email me.
I also have a blog where I post old news that may be of interest to others and that have sometimes genealogical value.

I have many family stories that have been shared with me about my lines. My family lines are Jones, Owens, Knowles, Nash, Painter, Hall,Prothero(e) and Edgerton, Keller, Breeden and many more. These are the primary ones I work on. I have others and my family gets together every couple years to visit and keep in touch. We have all shared in my tree at and my family in Wales and England help me with my research there... I spend many hours in libraries, courthouses and cemeteries across the country and in Europe.
Any individuals that I have created files for are usually directly related to me. If I do create one for someone not in my family tree I am glad to transfer along with any picture of the grave. I don't own those... they belong to their family. I am not in a contest to try and create the most or have more than what truely belongs to me.

I don't think its right for someone else to post several thousand obits and call them their find because they posted it first & then refuse to transfer it.

Feel free to use any photos I have posted.

RE: Painter Knowles
I would be interested in information you have on the Painter family line. My mail for FindAG goes to a separate box that I rarely see. Try

OK, now I see what the problem is....Songer Cemetery and the Poor Farm Cemetery are adjacent to each other so I will switch his memorial to Songer.....thanks.

Thank you for your email...I am wondering what to do because I obtained that information from I know there is a lot of bad information out there but read what the contributor wrote about visiting the site.

What do you think? Have you seen a stone at Songer Cemetery? I noticed there are no stone pictures on the parents graves.

Will wait for your reply.

RE: Helen Bailey
Yes Jane, that would be appreciated. She is my aunt, and I have photos and words to add.

Thanks - Buz

Edgar Rodman

You have a record for a Michael Rodman which has been linked to a record of mine for Edgar Rodman. Edgar was my Great Uncle. His wife was Loretta, and he had only one son, whose name was John.

I believe your Michael Rodman's father's name was also Edgar, which is a logical mistake. However, it lists him as being the child of my Edgar, which is incorrect.

Could you please correct this. Thank you.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at Or you may visit our genealogy website at

Gravestone Photo - Lucy Payne Bailey
Jane, many thanks for your nice gravestone photo for my grandmother Lucy (Payne) Bailey. Though I grew up in Danville, I don't get back there very often.

Regards, Buz Bailey

RE: Keller Family
The Keller Family past Allison T Keller is a big block wall for me. I can't find much on his father William Keller.
I knew Nina Castle very well growing up. She was my Sunday school teacher as well.

Hello Jane, I am a descendant of the Knowles family. My branch (William Montgomery Knowles) went to Oklahoma and on to California. For some reason after W.M. Knowles died his wife our Grandma Knowles changed the spelling to Knoles. From the old pictures everyone says my mother and I look like the old Knoles family. I just started working on this branch of my tree so I do not have that much information about the family. I have always been attracted to this side of the family. It is great to meet a Knowles cousin who shares the same blood.
