|Shawdau||RE: Fred Shaw|
Sure - he has to be somewhere - that's the theory on my great uncle Harry Mc. Putney - his wife died in Ramsey County MN, but he was already dead when she moved there from Galesburg, IL - someone will happen upon his grave someday and I will have all of my great uncles accounted for! His daughter is buried in Illinois, but his son is buried in Minnesota - I think that's why his widow went to MN, to live with the son. Ah, well - I'm done for the night - found a very important book tonight that's been missing for years - FINALLY! A librarian copied it for me years ago, but I misplaced it - the search has been on for years.

No, I'm sorry - she asked me a few days ago. I only have Rosa Cox married to Emil Peterson. I don't know anything about Fred Cooper, but I'll keep my eyes out for him.

Thank You! I attempted to retire from obituaries, but that lasted about half a day! I found six obituaries today from 1967 - 1968 and sent them to the people who had put the people on Find A Grave. So much for retirement. Ruth

I know - this is my second time through the book! It's LONG. Some of the names are wrong, but I've been able to figure out most of them.

All the ones I've sent to you recently have been from Banks & Beals Funeral Records, Stronghurst, IL. (1960 - 2004). Compiled by Ada Hubbard for the Henderson County Genealogy & Family History Society. It has over 200 pages and I'm only about half way through!
Other than those, the obituaries I collected come from the Burlington Hawkeye newspaper, I'll have to put the dates on them as I send them, but for now, everything is coming from the Banks & Beals book.

I am laboring away - ha ha - I quit for a while to watch some videos on the computer, then went back to it. My sister just called to tell me that Michigan has opened its genealogical records so that may give me something to do for awhile. I'm about halfway through my Henderson County, IL info... just a warning. Have a Good Evening, Ruth

They all look great. I love middle names! I have pages to go yet so I'll probably be writing you again. Thanks - Ruth

I'm doing pretty well - my eye hasn't forgiven me for this, yet. I'm glad that was my second out of two eyes and I don't have any more to do. I don't know if I would have the nerve to undergo a third one. I'll check the memorial and see how beautiful it is - thank you!

It looks great. That's all I have on him - not really an obituary. I have to take some time off (again?) for eye surgery, but I'll be back in a few weeks. I just found some "new" old newspapers - I'm so glad my grandmother collected newspapers! I do too, since 1998, but that's nothing compared to her 1940's ones.

|Marcia Murray Holstrom||McClanahan|
Hi, Ruth - Thanks so much for your contributions to Findagrave.com. My husband is descended from McClanahan who came from Ohio to Illinois. I'm very impressed that Mary, wife of Alex, in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Warren County, Illinois, died in 1818 - which means that family was in that county much earlier than I knew. Unfortunately, as you know, there are lots of McClanahans in this area! Now I have yet another one to place in my records:-) Thanks, again, for your contributions. All of us out here really appreciate all of you who do this for us!
