|Bio and Links|
I am a native resident of Dayton, Ohio, son of Myron Dale and Emma Lucille (Smith) Poling. My favorite hobby has always been genealogy, but I started seriously studying my roots in 1993. I am single and retired after 30 combined years of service with the Montgomery County Clerk of Courts & Prosecuting Attorney offices. I enjoy entering information at Find A Grave. I have completed six cemeteries; Vernon Baptist Cemetery, Clinton County, Ohio; St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, North Star, Ohio; Roxanna Cemetery, Roxanna, Ohio; Mount Holly Cemetery, Mount Holly, Ohio; McKnight Cemetery, Spring Valley, Ohio; Spring Valley Cemetery, Spring Valley, Ohio; and Sections A, B & C of Woodland Cemetery, Xenia, Ohio. I have a full subscription to ancestry.com, and access to other sources. I like to research a persons name and add a small bio where possible. Please contact me with corrections / suggestions / links for my entries. Also contact me if you would like me to transfer a relatives memorial page to you. |
Personal Note: I do not see Find A Grave as an internet game, trying to get high numbers of memorials & pictures added. I have seen people who have been a member of Find A Grave for 1 year and have added 100,000 memorials. Then when you review their memorials I find names mis-spelled, birth & death dates wrong, either no places of birth & death or they are listed in the bio instead of the proper fields provided by Find A Grave. Then I see pictures upside down, part of the stone not in the picture, pictures on wrong graves. Then there are pictures that haven't been cropped and you see more grass than stone and you can't even read the stone. I have been a member of Find A Grave for over 9 years and I average 11 memorials weekly. I take time to research the person to see if I can add middle names, maiden names, full birth & death dates, places of birth & death, and a small bio. My advice is to please slow down & proof read your work before clicking save. Yes, I do make mistakes and appreciate you pointing them out to me. My mistakes are because I am human and not because I am in a hurry to get a high number of memorials & pictures added. Also, if you take time to proof read your work, and do a little research on the person you are creating a memorial page for, you won't receive dozen upon dozens of Edits requests.
Thank you for taking time to read my bio.

|Margaret Olson||RE: Nancy Menser|
Now that I look at things - Andrew (her husband) is listed as Mentzer - and he should be changed to Menser - and Nancy should be Menser, too. Their obituary in the Torchlight had it spelled that way. They died of cholera 11 days apart. The John A Menser in the Find A Grave list is ok that way. He's a son who died 2 yrs before. They also had a son Abraham who is supposed to be in Woodland and who supposedly died close to when his parents died. I have it that they are all in section D.

I have a Studio style Picture of the Poling Family. There are 19 People in the picture but I have no idea who they are. My Mother in law was a Poling and we found the Picture after her passing. Can you help me?

Edwin Alexander Reid Meredith (aka Edwin Meredith) Find A Grave Memorial# 46298200 was a Harvard Graduate, class of 1885. He was a Civil Engineer. Per a Dayton Metro newspaper, he died May 5, 1907 of pneumonia in Kremmling, Colorado. He was the husband of Mary Augustua Munger Meredith, resident of Xenia.
I thought perhaps you might update his death date and add the info above to his bio. If you would rather transfer management, I could update his record instead.
Sorry for the confusion and thanks.
