RE: Dorothea Pomeroy Thomas
Thanks for your note about Dorothea. Dorothea is my Mother's sister. Family history books do not show a marriage license for Dorothea and John/Jack Howard and we are wondering if the marriage ever took place. Notes from my deceased Mother also questioned the marriage. Research on trying to find information on the "Jack Howard" at Baer Field, Indiana was next to impossible with such a common name and I was also told about fires that had destroyed many records. Do you know anything about John/Jack Howard? I haven't been able to find anything on John Howard. Dorothea's death took place almost 70 years ago and about two years ago we discovered there was no marker on her grave. The lack of a marker was a surprise. We had a marker put on Dorothea's gravesite with the name Dorothea Thomas, the name of her second husband who was the Father of Dorothea's only son. Thanks again for your note!
