I have been digging up family bones for over 20 years now. Every new find is as exciting as the first one was. Any little new piece of the puzzle called my family tree renews my enthusiasm in searching. |
My family branch is:
Parents: Richard Clemmer Polk and Helen Iris Carpenter
Paternal grandparents: Nathan Delos Polk and Erma Tennyson,
Maternal grandparents: Harvey Wesley Carpenter and Genevieve Myrel Trimbell
I am very grateful to the volunteers on Find A Grave that go out and photograph headstones for me. It is a part of my family tree that I probably would never get to see. I love getting that mail saying, "Find A Grave photo success".
I have added pages for non family, so if you see one that is yours just contact me and I will trasfer the page to you.

Maud is my great grandmother, its taken so many years to find her. She left my grandmother and her brothers when they were little and their father raised them, I would appreciate it if you could link her grave page to her brother and family, they have her dates off as well and not sure how to fix it since I just got on here. This will mean the world to me and my family.

You're welcome. Thanks!
In my previous message I mistakenly called Caroline Shively Hanawalt "Amanda's mother"...I was barking up the wrong family tree! :)

I have you in my ancestry.com tree! I must have seen your bio months ago. I have thought about your Grandfather often (him being orphaned so young) Amanda's mother, Caroline Shively, had 7 siblings die in 6 days...how sad! Amanda/Charles are my 2x GG, so we are 2nd cousins, once removed. Thanks for the names of Charles' parents and sibs. I had nothing before him. As for me...you know Hannah Polk married Emmanuel Hanawalt (you have them linked) I also sent you a request to link them with dau., Lila, using the edit tab. They had 9 children, soon they should all be linked on Find A Grave (except Nina, who is living) My Gram is Mabel. A bio is on her Find A Grave page including her marriage and children. I see you have a personal email listed, I will send you a quick email so we can connect outside of Find A Grave. Great hearing from you!

Hi~ I was wondering how we're related? I'm granddaughter of Mabel M. Hanawalt Haan, who is dau of Emmanuel Hanawalt and Hannah M. Polk. Hannah is dau of Amanda Knoll and Charles Polk. Do you know more about Charles Polk or his parents, siblings?

Just wanted to let you know that I did identify the "Carpenter" photo. It is not the Carpenters except for Thomas's wife, Sarah Matilda Puckett. It is Dr. Puckett, her father, and all of his children, I believe. Are you on Ancestory.com for your Great Grandfather's family? Just thought you'd want to know about the picture. ~Cook

Hi, I wanted to inquire about 2 of your memorials
Elizabeth Lichty Saylor (1798 - 1873) #39795147
John J. Saylor (1799 - 1880) #39795090
I was wondering where you obtained the birth and death dates? The reason being I have an obit for one of their sons (John L. 65904877) that provides slightly different dates. I've put in a request to have him linked to his parents and the obit posted on his memorial but it hasn't been processed yet. Any info on origin of dates would be great thanks.
