Thanks for your efforts on looking for the grave of John H. Palmer of Co F, 120th Ohio Volunteer Infantry in the Mud Run Cemetery, Shelby county IL.
You said to contact you if I thought the wrong grave was photographed. The grave that you photographed was for John Palmer of the 104th IL. Today I found that he was a private from Mission IL who joined 27 Aug 1872 and was killed at Hartville TN on 7 Dec 1862.
So he can't be the soldier who was in the 120th Ohio who was mustered out in 1865 and died in Illinois in 1868.
