I'm a hobby genealogist who has been working since about 1990. I'm in the process of writing books about the McKee line of my family and I hope to publish soon.

The McKee family moved from Irland to the United States in the 1830's. They eventually all gathered on farms around Sparta in Randolph County, Illinois. Children of the migration generation grow up in the area. By the 1900's they begin to scatter all across the United States. Few family members are left in the area today.

Hey Pam! It's springtime so I'm back to wandering the cemeteries in my spare time! I went to city hall again last week and took a look at the records for Caledonia, and indeed, Earl McKee purchased the SE 1/4 of Lot No 15, Evergreen Addition of Caledonia Cemetery. Unfortunately, they failed to fill in any more information than that. . . I have narrowed down the location to a basically empty spot in the cemetery. As soon as I get to me cable I'll upload the photos of the general location and place something on the photo to show where this lot is located in relation to the others. AND if I have my 'poking stick' with me the next time I'm out there I'll see what I can find :)

RE: Carter Photo
You're very welcome for the photo. I'm trying to get the entire cemetery recorded.

Pam, you are most welcome! It was a nice day and I decided to drive up with my camera! My grandparents and my great-grandparents and my gg-grandparents are in that cemetery, along with a lot of cousins, etc.and one day I will be resting with them.

RE: Costa Memorial
You are most welcome. It was my pleasure. I also uploaded the photo to her husband's memorial, that I created. If you'd like management, please ask.

Yes, it was in the Percy Village Cemetery or the IOOF, same cemetery by the way. I looked for Hazel and thought I searched the whole cemetery too. The next time I was out there looking for another grave I found Hazel's. You get lucky sometimes and sometimes you don't.

RE: Hazel Deppe #67450296
Thank You. My relationship is through Virginia Mae Putney (1926 - 2008) marrying Clifford Earl Deppe (1915 - 1998). Virginia was my Dad's cousin and we provided her with some pictures of her father, Alva Claude Putney. She only had a couple pictures of him and we had some decent old pictures.

I was surprised to find Grace Deppe Brewer's marker at Springdale Cem. in Peoria, IL. I thought the Deppe's lived in Galesburg. Somehow that led to your memorial for Hazel and I got confused about the picture. I hope you can find out where she's buried.

Hazel Cliff Leary Deppe
Pam, A picture of Hazel Cliff Leary's headstone was added to your Find A Grave page for her on 4-7-2013, so the place where she is buried is marked with a stone. You could ask the person who submitted the picture in which cemetery she took the picture - just to ease my confusion. Thank You.
