I am a Kentucky native, born and raised. I'm currently researching the Reed's of Letcher, Breathitt, and Powell counties. Would like more info and possibly a pic of my great grandfather, John(Doc)Reed to pass along to my grandmother. Also looking into the Abney's of Powell county, Adams' of Clark county, Abner's of Powell and Clark county, and Wadkins' and Crawfords' of Breathitt county.|

I live in Florida and hoping to find someone who can get me photos of the headstones in that cemetery of the four members of the Draughn family - Hiram, Gainsey, Jennings, and a fourth name I can't remember right now. Tried Facebook, and Find a Grave but no luck. Or do you know someone in that area who could help? Thanks for your time

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. The same thing happened on his wife's (Aunt Goldie) Memorial bio. Evelyn Jean is also listed as being her daughter. I guess whoever supplied the info for the obit felt that she should be included. Aunt Goldie helped Grandma Tildia to raise Evelyn Jean after her mother died when she was 15 days old.

Hi, Loujeana. I was wondering why Evelyn Tharp, of Stanton, KY, is listed as a daughter of JB Reed. She is the daughter of James Monroe Watkins, dec'd, by his first wife, Lillian. He was a brother of Goldie Reed, JB's widow. I know Evelyn was close to her Uncle JB and Aunt Goldie. Aunt Goldie helped to raise Evelyn from the time she was a newborn. I'm just curious.
My maiden name is Hatton. I am related to them.

You're welcome! Sorry I couldn't find... Reed marker 3239
I had to dig and clear out the three I found. Next time I go to Ginter cemetery I will look again.

No sorry. My grandfather was Charlie Watkins. I know that he was born in Breathitt County and lived in Combs, KY but I don't think that I've ever heard of those two.

Could be related. My grandfather Charlie Watkins was born in Breathitt County. Not sure exactly where. I will do a little research on it. Thanks.

I took a picture for you. The plot was grown over very bad but I was able to clear it out enough to take a picture. The sun was not very cooperative. I will try to take another at a better hour. I attend church with Josephine's granddaughter Dollie Kidd Napier. I noticed she was a Watkins. My grandfather was a Watkins from Combs. Charlie Watkins. He was the son of Bill Watkins and Ellen Herald Watkins. His wife was Esther Overbee. Her parents were Ike and Sudie Overbee.

Yes, I would like that very much and thank you for adding my grandmother.
My husband is the great great nephew of Elizabeth McIntosh Abney that married Daniel Abney. I believe you are related. He also has Adams in his family line..
