When I was in high school, I began researching my family history with the help of my great-grandmother as well as other family members. About the same time, I began helping tend the cemetery where many family members of mine are buried. These two factors led me to be simultaneously interested in genealogy as well as cemetery documentation and preservation. I began transcribing local cemeteries to put on the free "Rootsweb" site (tn-roots.com) which has a wealth of information added by the generosity of volunteers.|
Most of my family has resided for generations in Gibson County, Tennessee. They arrived here via Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. Some entered Tennessee from the southwest corner, some crossed the mountains and the Cumberland Gap to enter from the middle and eastern parts of the state.
I love to contribute to Find a Grave in any capacity that I can. I have access to cemeteries in Gibson, Weakley, and Carroll Counties in West Tennessee.

I wanted to make sure I had her siblings correct.

Thanks for the info. I changed her find a grave info. What about her siblings?

Thank you SO much for your WONDERFUL contribution to Robert Crews' memorial! One of his descendants and I worked together on this line in the past, and I am happy to be able to put such a nice memorial together for him. I believe I have his application for a civil war pension somewhere in my disorganized house... and when I come across it again, I will add any information from it as well. Thanks again for the data, and for all that you do for Findagrave! Patricia

Adam, thank you so much for the grave marker photo for Z. V. Hicks in Walnut Grove Cemetery. It certainly was an unusual maker. : )

I have submitted edit links to Ann's parents: mother (my great aunt) Estelle Taylor and father Gerald Taylor. I maintain mems on her parents and brother Charles Burton. Many thanks.

No. I do not have a book. I am so excited to see this site. My grandmother, Annie Nell McCartney, Tharp, Oliver had a brother Babe (I think that is right) and Harman. I remember them and where they lived.
My Dad's dad is kind of mysterious because I have never heard of any of his relatives. I actually have his baby picture.
Are you related to Don McCartney?
