It's been brought to my attention that i have a number of duplicates. I am working on figuring out who needs to be deleted. This happens sometimes when i don't have enough information to realize that two people are in fact the same person. It also happens when the other memorial has incorrect spelling or other incorrect information. It happens, especially with variations of spelling and calculated dates.|
If i send you a request to update a memorial, make a correction or connect the person to their family, it is because there is a source to prove it. It does not take much effort to verify this on your own. I don't include sources when making requests because you should be finding the sources to see for yourself anyway.
There are many places online to find Free and Real sources such as death certificates, baptismal records, marriage licenses, burial records, etc. I do not pay for services to find sources and i do not expect anyone else to either.
I do not expect sources to be sent to me to have changes made. I am more than happy to find the sources to prove or disprove any corrections. I am not here to collect memorials so the ones i have are usually connected to me somehow and i really appreciate keeping them accurate.
Remember that each and every memorials is a person and should be treated that way.
Be careful using find a grave for family history research. I have seen a lot of errors, especially in Shamokin Cemetery.
Someone posted my copyrighted photos! How can I get them removed or get them properly credited?
It is a violation of Find A Grave policy to post such photos. There is a link to this policy on every single content page at the Find A Grave website.
If i find that you have uploaded my photos, i will ask you to remove them. If i find that you have uploaded more than one i will again ask you to remove them. If you refuse, i will report you. Anyone that has any understanding of the amount of work involved in photographing entire cemeteries should have an idea as to why i find this so upsetting.

|Tom and Nancy Gawthrop||Henry Wagner's Headstone|
I certainly appreciate the hard work you have put into photographing headstones, just to have others pirate the photo's and reclaim as their own. It is pure wrong.
In light of this, every photo we have posted on Find a Grave and Ancestry, we have watermarked with our names right on the headstone as contributors. Also, whenever we find a cousin or great aunt, great grandparents, from out of state (we live in Knox County, IL), we ask permission of the photographer/submitter to copy this photo. We then proceed to watermark the photograph with the submitter's name, and his Find a Grave contrib. number right on the headstone in a visible yet not glaring fashion. This detracts piraters.
We too have taken pictures of all headstones in several cemeteries here in Knox County, and a few of the cemeteries have been WELL off the beaten path. One was back behind a cornfield even. So I appreciate your efforts.
In view of this, any Wagner's pictures you have taken and posted on Find a Grave, do we have permission to copy, watermark, and repost on Ancestry? Nancy Gawthrop
I noticed a reference in someones email to you regarding pictures of Bressler stones but I am not sure to which cemetery it was in reference. My ancestors are buried in the Salem Hetzel's Lutheran Church in Pine Grove.
I am going to visit there shortly and would love to find their stones. Would the Church have a map of who is buried where? Or, do you have photos of those stones? Thanks for any help.

|JimToo||William Hoida photo|
You posted a photo of William C. Hoida's stone [1928- ](#133036124) on the memorial for William Hoida [1891-1891] (#44472586). The infant William either has no separate stone or is identified by the unmarked stone to the left of William and Elizabeth.
You also posted a photo of a large Hoida on #44472586. That stone is for Raymond and Grace Unger Hoida and is not related to William the infant (#44472586).

I noted you place flowers on this memorial. She is my great great Grandmother. I've just added a small obit from the Oxford, Iowa newspaper if that would be helpful in your research. Becky
Carrie...I'm a little confused. When researching family on Ancestry, a link to your memorial on Find a Grave came up. It asked me simply if this person was the person I was researching. If I answer yes, it links the link to my tree. Is this what you are objecting to? It seems that you would have to take it up with Ancestry, wouldn't you? I can't help it if it comes up automatically. I'm not trying to steal anything from you.....
Would you prefer to transfer the memorial? It is for three of my families children....#86618118. Their mother is Margaret Kellerman. Please help me understand your concern as I do not want to upset you.
|Peggy Bargen Duey||Please delete pictures|
Please delete pictures on memorial # 50867611 because Aaron & Christiana Conrad are buried in 2 different cemeteries. I am going to have Find A Grave merge the memorials but she does have a marker. thanks!!!
|Ann Thompson||Levi Creasy in Mifflinville Cemetery|
You asked for help determining if Levi Creasy was born 23 February 1800 or 1806.
The tombstone is very readable. He died 16 September 1876 and was 70 years, 6 months, and 21 days old. I used my date calculator on Personal Ancestral File and found that it calculated to 23 February 1806, so based on the numbers on his tombstone Levi was born 23 February 1806.
Thank you for sharing information on Find-a-Grave.

Thank you for linking her to her parents.
Carrie, I have a question regarding the Mary A Fisher photo from the Shamokin cemetery.
Any idea what it says on the bottom of the stone?
