Melanie: I have been researching the SUGGS in OK. Luther Edward SUGGS (28 Mar 1907-25 Oct 1971) married Eloise Hazel PITNEY on 03 Jul 1941 in Los Angeles, CA. I am not related to the SUGGS. My relationship is by marriage of the following. Alexander Alex Lewis PITNEY married Louise A. WORTLEY. Louise is sister to Ted WORTLEY, my great grandfather.

L refers to Louisa (Lewis) Tucker, wife of Marion Montgomery Tucker. Louisa was born in Cocke Co. Tenn, the dau. of Martin Lewis and Winnie Allen, also from Cocke Co. TN whom later removed to Collin Co. TX near Rhea's Mill in 1867.
Naomi, Edith, and Marion were children of the couple.
Marion Montgomery Tucker was born in Washington Co. TN the son of Abraham Tucker and Mary Ann Britton, whom were married in Greene Co. Tenn in 1822. Marion M. Tucker served in the Union Army, 8th Tenn Infantry during the Civil War.
Marion M. Tucker's daughter Mary Alice married Mack Stewart at Eastman, Chickasaw Nation, later Love Co, OK on Oct 5 1890. A marriage certificate was made up but there wasn't a courthouse to record the event.
