Hi! Catherine and husband, Jefferson are not buried in Cedar Dale Cemetery; however, some of the children are. According to the Sarpy County Historical Museum in Bellevue, NE (page 138, 31 Dec. 1995, Sarpy County Genelogical Society Book)they were buried in their family cemetery. It is believed to be the first cemetery in Sarpy County. Thomas Jefferson Saling was one of the earliest settlers in Nebraska Territory, arriving in 1854, the year the Territory was established. He died the next year and was buried on his farm. He is said to be the first white permanent Sarpy County settler to die and be buried in the county. In later years other family members and neighbors were buried in the small plot.

The cemetery was formally established after a survey by J. D. Patterson, Sarpy County Surveyor, was completed on 7 Feb. 1882. The plot was recorded on 11 April 1882 in Book "O", page 78. The small cemetery, 56' by 104' (.133 acre),l was divided into eight 20'x 20' lots. Ownership of the lots is unknown. This cemetery is on private land and there are no markers or other signs of its use as a cemetery.

The number of burials is unknown but they include the following:

Saling, Benjamin J.

Can you transcribe what it says on his grave marker? I am unsure whether it says he was borned or burned. Sure would be nice to know what is says. I am hoping it is just my bad eyes.

Jane Harrison Photo request
Hi, the volunteers are happy to fill your photo request, however we need a burial location in order to do so. The cemetery is very huge and is not very cooperative with the volunteers from findagrave.
Can you call them and get the burial location? The number is 972 238 7111. Once you get the burial location you can either insert it in the PLOT field so the volunteers can see it or you can message me and I can make sure it gets added and that the photo request is filled ASAP.
thanks!

Richard Payne
Hill Crest Cemetery
If you have a Section # for the graves of
John Addie (1878-1935) and
Jessie Stinchcomb (1894-1939)
I can probably find your shots.
Do you know if they were Military Burials?
If so I might be able to track them that way as the military parts of the Cemetery are done by dates.

"NOTE: Please e-mail or call (972-238-7111) Restland for plot information BEFORE submitting a photo request."
Restland Memorial Park is an extremely large cemetery (over 125,000 interments / entombments and has over 300,000 property owners)and without the plot location it is next to impossible to find specific individual graves . I tried to get the information but they will only research the location for a family member. Sorry but anyone trying to help you get a photo of your loved one's headstone, will needs your help first. Without the plot information, your chances are probably slim to none for a photo, it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
You can e-mail - http://www.restlandfuneralhome.com/home/contact_us.html
or call - (972-238-7111) Hours are from 9am-6pm CST Monday-Sunday.
Thank you and have a great day.
