This is Find A GRAVE. Please do not ask me to link to 'burial unknowns'. I will be more than happy to do so when the location is found. Take a moment to read FAQ146 regarding unknown burials.

In case you do not wish to read FAQ146 it states "Location of body unknown is used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition must be determined and updated within 30 days."

RE: Moulton Burial Ground, Peabody Mass
I have new pictures of the Moulton Burial Ground. Do you want them vial Find A Grave or via external source?

I also found a panoramic photo of "Stannard Cemetery" that shows about 20 or so headstones and have submitted it for approval for a general picture of the cemetery. It's definitely the same cemetery. I can see some of the same headstones as in the individual pictures.

RE: Photos
I found an old photo of the broken headstone of a person named Nancy Jones who died on September 11, 1877 and scanned it and uploaded it to her memorial in "Stannard Cemetery". I'm 99% sure that I took this picture in the cemetery listed as "Standard Road" that you linked to. I have definitely been to that cemetery and many of the headstones were broken. I remember driving part of the way there, and walking the rest of the way several times. I specifically remember that broken Nancy Jones headstone from that old cemetery. So it is my strong opinion that "Standard Road" = "Stannard Cemetery". It is definitely off of Beech Hill Road in Blandford, on what was once known as South Otis Road.

RE: Photos
Hello Denise,

I took those pictures way back in the late 1970's/early 1980's when I lived in Western Massachusetts and did a lot of exploring on old roads and trails. I think the pictures you linked to were in a cemetery on an old road off of Route 23 in Blandford, but I'm not 100% sure. I looked on some of my old maps and couldn't find anything where I thought it would be. It's been many years since I've been in that area. I recently found some of my old pics and scanned and posted them. Because they were taken decades ago the headstones were in better shape than they would be now. I emailed the Blandford Town Hall asking for the location of Stannard Cemetery. I'll let you know if I hear anything. I never knew the actual names of the old cemeteries that I found back in those days.

All names of the living have been removed. As for the link on the page, it takes you to the funeral home who did the arrangements. So there is no reason to remove it, because it doesn't have any relation to the family, but the funeral home. Not many people know how to do links.

RE: Mary Perkins Bradbury
We eventually found the correct place in Ipswich. We just went through findagrave. We didn't find the correct grave markers unfortunately. They are working on a restoration if it. Salisbury Colonial Burying Ground has a map and information that sits at its entrance. It is laminated and chained to the entrance and was very valuable in finding Mary and Thomas' grave markers.

RE: Mary Perkins Bradbury
I went to Mary Perkins Bradbury's page and submitted an edit to change the name of the cemetery. I haven't yet contacted the website with the suggestion that they put addresses in for cemeteries so that you don't have to depend on GPS to get you to the correct cemetery. I had gone looking for one in Ipswich at the Old Burying Ground. GPS sent us to the town of Essex. The actual name is 1634 Old North Burying Ground! It is actually in Ipswich!

Mary is my 8x great grandmother. I am anxious to get it corrected. I put in for the correction by putting in for an edit. I also sent a message to to express my great concerns about accuracy in this website. I can't understand how someone could possibly be putting in memorials for 66,000 and managing over 65,000 of them! My understanding with findagrave when I joined was that people would go to grave sites and document that they were there. I don't think that is happening with some contributors. I think that honoring "top contributors" encourages this with some people! I do hope that the website can make some significant changes because real genealogists are counting on accurate information. I have come to New England from AZ trying to find the graves of several ancestors. I think that it would be very helpful if the exact addresses of the cemeteries were put on the memorial pages so that people can find the cemetery easily with a GPS.
