|Having more fun walking the older areas of the cemeteries and thinking of the histories.|
I have photographed all of Oak Grove and more than half of Lakeside in Pekin, IL. There are alot of missing headstones and quite a bit that are unreadable. Getting what I can before they are gone.
I will transfer ONLY within Find A Grave's guidelines. Though happy to add any information you have to the memorials. This is a memorial site, not a family genealogy site.
I also have spent many an hour walking the cemeteries and transcribing headstones that are hard to read. If you take any of the photos and place them on other sites such as Ancestry, at least make credit back to me. May sound selfish, but giving credit to someone for their work is only correct.

Thanks so much for the info regarding EOJ's grave and marker. The hyphen is missing from the grave marker. Have now found him and will cancel the photo request.

Ok...sorry for previous message.
I will change John & Anna over to Lakeview.

Thank you for the info you sent. I need to do some more investigating before I go any further on these. They are ancestors of mine. I found some stones in Lakeside that matched the criteria for my ancestors. I want to go and look at both sets of stones, the ones I am aware of, and the ones you photographed. As always, thank you for all you do.

That would most likely be her. Someone "thought" they remembered she died in the 90's but wasn't for sure. Thank you! I was not having any luck with her and was going to give her a break and work on someone else for a few days if I struck out again today.

Thanks so much for the reply. I'm working on the genealogy and am at a loss when I come to her. I found out some more information as a dug into her some more. Her maiden name was actually Johnson and she was first married to Mannon Brown Sr., they divorced, she then remarried to a man with the last name Baity (who I am still trying to figure out his name as Mannon Jr.s wife's maiden name was Baity), they divorced and she then married a man with the last name Story.
And her name should be spelled Kathryn, but you know as well as I do that it is not always correct on the headstones.

I know that you have walked and added many memorials for the cemeteries in Pekin. Would you happen to know if there is a Catherine or Ellen Catherine Brown (b. abt 1915) buried in Lakeview Cemetery? She is the wife of Mannon LeRoy Brown Sr. (memorial # 100116411) that was created by another contributor. I have searched all over and cannot find a memorial for her anywhere. She is the mother of Mannon LeRoy "Curly" Brown Jr. I am not sure of her date of death. Thanks

I suggested that his death date was Feb 1850 based on the 1850 Federal Census Mortality Schedule found at
Then using the age at death calculated his birth date

Thank you - I just noticed it this evening when I was checking to see if the person in the obituary had been entered on Find A Grave - You're doing great work, very much appreciated!
