Helping to Add photos and listing to the 14 Cemeteries of Harmon County, Oklahoma...Visit my genealogy located at "Free" site at over 187,000 entries. I started genealogy in 1995 before I had a computer, used Family History Center in Bagdad, Arizona where I found friends who loved genealogy as much as I do! Moved back to Delbert's Roots in Oklahoma to retire. I have walked the 14 cemeteries many times making lists to place online, now, walking with my camera... to update ! (On my third camera)

P S: If you notice a big dark blob on the marker, it may be my a few drops on some in Wellington, Texas! HA! July 14, 2012

Sorry, don't think to check messages very often.

You are most welcome for the pictures. This was my great-grandfather. Mamaw had the pictures and they are far to nice to just keep by one person. I have others if you want to email me direct, will gladly share. Some are identified and some are not.

I have just recently discovered Find A Grave and just love the great job that is being done!!!!
The two women Leah and Emily are my grand mothers and I would like to know if you have any connection to them. I want to add to their sites but am not sure how to go about it my email is if you can help me.
I have also looked at your personal web site and am wanting to make one can you tell me where you started this site from ??
Thanks so very much for the pictures.
Emily's stone was not placed at time of death because of financial problems and children worried @ that and when my dad got sick in 1985 that was the last thing he and his sisters did before he died was place that stone. It was set on the day he died 18Nov1985 -- his last wish -- his and sisters and other family have either not been added to Find A Grave or not linked and I will be trying to do this in the near future. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks again for all the volunter work!!!!

Where did you find your information for Elizabeth's parents? She is not listed living with them in the 1850 US Census. At that time she would have been about 3 years old on a census report.

I have been working on my Gibson line and I see that you have also been making some edits to connect these family members.

If they are your direct line, I would like to compare notes.

Please contact me.

Where were your Perrin ancestors from. My side came from Virginia to Breckinridge Co, Ky. Some migrated into Oklahoma and North Texas

RE: James Marion Whitfield
Hi Jeanette,

My apologies for not responding sooner! There was a marker there for my grandfather, James Marion Whitfield. I went there with my Dad in the early 1970's and saw it myself. It was a red granite tombstone and also had my grandmother's name on it too, Viola Gertrude, though she wasn't buried there as she was buried in Floydada, Texas, much to my Dad's displeasure. Surely they wouldn't have removed his stone because the other plot wasn't used so that they could sell it. I guess I'm going to have to search for an email address or more likely a postal address to get to the bottom of the issue. Perhaps the listing here was wrong.

Thank you so much for trying to find and photograph the gravestone for me. It means a lot that someone in that part of the world is willing to help someone on the other side of the world who is trying to put together some family information.

Thank you for making the edits so quickly. It looks like I had my finger on the wrong button for the county, though, it should be Motley. Sorry about that! I do appreciate it!

Love you Bio page, your sense of humor is priceless. Cooperating with wonderful Find A Grave members like you is rewarding. Bless your heart, taking photos of headstones is an enormous task. Thank you for all of your time and efforts.
