Known as The GraveWalkers we have been photographing & transcribing cemeteries for over 15 years. We love old cemeteries and appreciate when information is correctly presented. Find A Grave has been very important in our research. We are always happy to help with cemeteries in our area and are pleased for you to use our photos for your family files. You do not have to contact us for permission to use our photos but we would appreciate credit for our effort. It is our goal to provide a photograph for family members who are not able to travel to our area to view the final resting place of their loved ones. Its about the cemeteries.
Roberta Kingsley Powers King Interesting... I haven't found a marriage for her to a Beasley or to Howard A King, however there is a divorce for a Roberta P (maiden name not given) from John B Beasley in Davidson County dated 8/3/1983 AND a divorce for Howard A King from Fay K (also no maiden name given) on 4/27/1982 in Carroll County. Quite a coincidence but may not be either one of them...For genealogy purposes I would be inclined to list her maiden name as Powers and link to -- or note -- her bio parents. (Maybe some contributor will offer docs to explain.) If you want to link her to her mother -- it's #109579042 Mattie Nola Baker [Powers] Reed. Her father was Harry Ross Powers (1901 TN - 1978 FL). I haven't found a memorial for him. Mattie Nola Baker and Harry Ross Powers were married 6/1/1927 in Sumner County. Love, Tina
Thank you ... for the many pictures you continue to add for family members. You two are very much appreciated and loved!
Your posts have always been "Bible" to me so I'm a bit hesitant to bring up one which I believe is wrong, Robbie Beasley King. I believe this is Robbie Kingsley Powers, a granddaughter of Lula Key Baker and great niece of Maggie Key Beasley. (She was likely named after Maggie's daughter Robbye and may have been adopted by Maggie as she is on the 1940 census as a daughter along with Robbye.) However, she is on the 1930 census with Mattie Nola (Baker) Powers, her SSDI dates match those on the Robbie Beasley King memorial and the SSDI application has Bakers as parents. (SSDI name is Robbie P King, issued in TN.) I am, however, taking the leap that she either married a Beasley before the King or was adopted by Aunt Maggie. Let me know...
Mom is 94 and, though fuzzy sometimes, is well. I think about y'all often. Hugs and kisses, Tina
