I have been doing genealogy research for well over 20 years. My roots are deep within Runnels County, Texas. I enjoy helping others in the hope that someday I can repay those who have helped me. I am no longer able to work outside my home due to health issues so I try to make the best of my time by quilting, gardening and genealogy. If you find a mistake I have made in the listings, please let me know by using the "EDIT" tab so I can correct them. Please remember, we are all human!! Mistakes can be made, even on death certificates. If there is a relative that you would like transfered to you, please let me know an I will be glad to do that. A special thanks to Ralph Terry and friends for all their hard work transcribing the Trickham Cemetery, Coleman, Tx. I have added to these records as not all were listed. Without this, it would have taken much longer to get the information out. Slowly but surely, I am photographing and listing the graves in Evergreen in Ballinger, Paint Rock, Lakeview, Fairview and North View in Winters. |
Old Runnels,Brookshire (Mt Victory), Maverick and Garden of Memories, Norton, Rowena Protestant, Rowena Evergreen, Rowena St Joseph's, Wingate, Wilmeth (Runnels Co), Trickham,Rough Creek and Valera (Coleman County) are finished.
Please use the photos I take as you see fit. That is why I do this, so others can benefit from it.

This Lamon Cemetery is a very small (black) cemetery that has virtually been lost. Trees are down, monuments are off-center and lots of caved in areas. It's off a main road and in terrible need of maintenance. I stumbled across it when my GPS lead me on a wild goose chase. After I found it, I ran it thru Findagrave, it wasn't posted so I couldn't just walk away and let Mother Nature & Father Time take even a greater toll so I photographed it and made the entry. Thats my association with it.
Don't know if U are aware of this area of Texas or not but there is an Oakwood close by, I have relatives buried there and it's rather large and yes, the entry may be a mistake on the D.C.
There are a couple of coincidences that made me consider entering your discovery but I can't be positive this is the same person and for what I do, I have to be 100 % the info is accurate.
If U would like, I'll pass the memorial on to you and feel free to enter your hard work. It would be a shame to pass it by if it is correct.
Again, appreciate your trouble digging this up.
Later, James Coston

Thank you for your time and effort. Appears there will be no headstone for him, that is a shame, but it what it is. Have a great day.

Sandra, again thank you so much for transferring Evalena's Grave Memorial to me to maintain. I never got to meet her because of her death at a very young age, but because my mother loved her so much, I think I can say truthfully that I love her too. I promise to do my best to make her real to her grandchildren, something that would not have been possible for your diligent work and generosity.

Sandra, thank you for finding this information on Evalena Hester. I remember actually visiting her grave with my sister, Paula. She had gone to it with my mother when she was young, and at the time, despite it being overgrown and unmarked, except with a rock, she walked right to it. Would you mind transferring Eva's grave to me? My mother's own mother died when she was only three and even then she had been hospitalized for two years, so Mother had no memory of her own mother, but she loved, adored and cherished Eva from the moment she met her. I would love to add the wonderful things about Eva that my mother told us about. Thank you.

Thank you so very much for creating a memorial for my mother's cousins, Raymond and James Barnes. I did not know about them until we had a family reunion and got to meet their brothers and sisters. I will let them know about this.
Again thank you and God bless.

Sandra, thank you so very much for transferring the Find A Grave Memorial of Gertrude Rosa Smoot, my grandmother, to me to be maintained. You have done such great work in locating her grave and in documenting it. Please know that our entire family appreciates it very much. We will love and cherish every step of filling out the remaining details of her short sweet life.

I removed it.... can't imagine why I'd have posted that picture in the first place. I wouldn't have placed it there with the birth and death dates you currently have there - have you recently changed or added those dates? I know that particular headstone is in the Southlawn section, which I'm about 90% done with - photographing and transcribing. Did I give you the grave location?
