Bio and Links
Bio Photo Georgia (Decatur, DeKalb, Fulton, Cobb, and now Cherokee County) has been home for two thirds (most) of my life. Two sons, three granddaughters, and three grandsons, all of whom are Georgians.
An Amarillo, Texas native (and 10 yr. native of Fort Worth), and seven generations removed from Patrick and Margaret McCullough Phinney of Chester (District)County, SC, dating from 1786.
History at times surpasses genealogy as the greater interest. This site is a compilation of stories from individuals responsible for that history, and it never ceases to improve with each addition.
Paternal Lineage: Phinney, Crosser, Wright, McCullough
Maternal Lineage : Daniel, Newman, Talley, Magee

"Tis but a few whose days amount
To three score and ten
And all beyond that short account
Is sorrow, toil and pain."
(from Nancy Agnes Austen McCreight headstone)

RE: Ben Ehrlich 1943
Hi Wes,

Nope .... he is interred there in Georgia with the record you created. He was originally interred in the Netherlands but was later repatriated there in Georgia after the war in 1948 or 1949.

Check out this airmen's record to see what crew he was on:

If you'd like you can transfer his record to me and I can update his record to look like the above record and then "transfer his record BACK to you" after I'm done. :-)

Or you can copy info from the above record yourself. :-)

Thanks my friends,

Wes: FindAGrave misunderstood my notifying them that your biopage for Capt. Pickett was that of a cenotaph. I did this per their rules. Instead, they merged the 2. I've emailed them requesting they restore yours and to mark it as cenotaph.

Last name Phinney
The maiden name of my mother-in-law is Phinazee; Butts County, GA...descendant of John Phinazee, American Rev. Soldier from Ireland, SC & GA. The Phinazee name has also been written Phinney, Phinasee, etal.

Your last name immediately caught my eye; but after reading your BIO. I can see your roots are elsewhere.

I'm sure our paths will cross again on Find-a-Grave.

Hi Wes,

Thank you for making these changes and/or corrections so quickly. I certainly appreciate it. I hope to take & post photos of each of the Milner-Cummings headstones (that have not already been photographed). I found a few more tidbits of info. on Find-a-Grave this afternoon that I have submitted. I plan to check with this evening to see what else I can glean.

Again, thank you so much for doing a great & timely change of some of the Milner-Cummings info.

RE: Lucy Winn
The pics are pretty pathetic. I had one heck of a time crawling under bushes to get to the stones. I am trying to get permission to trim back the bushes.

RE: Mollie
Did it cite a source for that maiden name? I do believe that it is her maiden name but I want sources. : )
