Georgia (Decatur, and now Cherokee County) has been home for two thirds (approaching three fourths) of my life. Two sons, three granddaughters, and three grandsons, all of whom are Georgians. |
An Amarillo, Texas native, and seven generations removed from Patrick and Margaret McCullough Phinney of Chester (District)County, SC, dating from 1786.
History at times surpasses genealogy as the greater interest. This site is a compilation of stories from individuals responsible for that history, and it never ceases to improve with each addition.
Paternal Lineage: Phinney, Crosser, Wright, McCullough
Maternal Lineage : Daniel, Newman, Talley, Magee,

I have reeceived your request for a photo. This cemetery Has 41 graves in it and I see only three are listed. The cemetery is in bad condition and quite overgrown. I will try to take a photo when I can find someone to come with me clean up the cemetery. EDF

|Donald Reindl||RE: Dederich Gerhart Ludwig (# 15483662)|
Thanks. Yes, he would have died in the U.S.; I'm also iffy on "Ludwig" being the last name. It's possible, or he may have a triple first name and the last name may be somewhere else on the stone.
Best wishes, Don

Thanks very much!
I really appreciate it.
|Kathy Roberts||RE: Jeff Davis Chason - Bainbridge|
My grandfather was son of John Chason (1853-1937). and Mary Hannah McCullers (McCullough). He was born in Desser, (Seminole or Decatur Co.) in 1882 and died in 1982. After his first wife died in her 20's of tb (my grandmother - they had one child - my mother Edna Frances Chason-Garrett b. 1916) he remarried and moved from Fowltown, Ga to Tallahassee, Leon, FL. He was postmaster in Tallahassee at some point and thru the years purchased land to grow pine trees. He ended up owning 2,000 acres in Leon County. He owned more than anyone in the county besides St. Joe Paper Company. Of course, it has been all sold. 2 of his uncles were Dr. Gordon Chason and Dr. Jefferson Davis Chason. Dr Gordon Chason delivered my mother, Edna Frances Chason. I have a note signed by him that he delivered her. She had to have it to get a delayed birth certificate. I think I have figured out that the twin I asked you about was another Chason who had a child named Alice - I will let you know if I ever get it to the place I am "Pretty Sure" that it is correct! Thanks, Kathy

Just letting you know that I've added the info and the connection you requested.
Also found his death certificate and added more info from that and from some census records.

My name is Kathy Roberts. My grandfather was Thomas Jefferson Chason b. 1892 d. 1982. He was nephew to Dr. Jeff Chason. In notes written by my Aunt Clara, she said that Dr. Jeff's child Alice had a twin named John that died (I presume at birth). Are you connected to the Chasons and do you know the answer to this? Thanks, Kathy

I deleted my duplicate--I don't live near there, but a Photo Request will likely get someone out to verify whether or not he's where you put him.
