|Ruth Fisher||Pvt William J Baldwin|
William Baldwin is my great-grandfather and I think some of the information that you have on find-a-grave is incorrect. First the middle initial of J has never been proved to my satisfaction. Every official document with his name on it is only William Baldwin. I also disagree with the parents that you have listed. I believe his parents to be Daniel Baldwin from Ashtabula, Ohio and Mary Withrow. I believe I have substantial proof to prove this. Also, he had many more children than Ferdinand R. Baldwin including my grandfather, Sam Neill Baldwin. If the parents are incorrect, that makes his siblings incorrect. I don't know the proper way to get this corrected. I am the person that ordered his grave marker from the VA and our family had a dedication at his gravesite in 1994. Your assistance in this situation will be appreciated.
|Dave & Lee Burns||Irvin C Elkins|
I just went back and checked my file and the land records also list him as Irvin C. Elkins
|Dave & Lee Burns||Irvin/Andrew Elkins|
The marriage records of Barbour County Alabama have Sarah Bentley married to Irvin Elkins. In the 1850 census he is I.C. Elkins. In the 1860 census he is listed as Andrew. I will transfer both Irvin and Sarah to you. They appear on a tree that I did for a friend of mine. If you have access to Ancestry you might see what we have done in the Sumrall/Lavinghouse Tree.

Found a local person to direct us to this cemetery in the woods. The coordinates (map) as listed previous to today are totally off. We took new coordinates and photos of the cemetery and area, which will get added in the next day or so to the cemetery webpage. There were only the 3 burials and the markers were obviously not original ones, but were placed there about 30-40 years ago according to the local person. It was satisfying to have found this on our trip to Texas from SC. There is no evidence of the plantation anymore. Diane
|Ginny Lesak Jakoubek||RE: WALL FAMILY MEMORIAL'S|
Thank you for the message. Yes, I am related to the Wall family as distant cousins through my Caraway & Tisdale family lines. Much of my maternal family was born in Mississippi! Wall, Caraway, Tisdale, Addy, Belew, Smith & Johnson are some of my surnames.

Your very welcome
|Mary Ann||RE: CARRIE ETTA SNELLGROVE|
Thank you so much, Bob. Other than the bible, which I am surprised to hear about, I believe the other instances of the name all came from that same census. I uploaded some photos of Carrie Etta (one with her mother Matilda, her daughter, and grandson, and the other of her alone) - I imagine you've seen those by now. I would love to hear your old stories. I found your "Female Side of Our Family" genealogy on the Lauderdale Historical Society site and am very much enjoying reading through it. I wish the Meridian Star had online historical archives - I would love to read the Alfred Snellgrove Blazed a Trail... article. I'll email you so that you can contact me privately if you'd like to share any stories. I have death dates but no sourcing, so I'll wait to submit those until I can prove them. Thanks again for your quick changes!

|M.C. Brown, Bear Creek, N.C.||A Commendation for YOU!|
Can it be that you have left almost as many virtual flowers(7,942) as you have created memorials. It is so sad to see the number of memorials in the thousands and only a few flowers left by the contributor so I say hats off to you and keep up the good work.

|Marge||RE: Thelma Elizabeth|
Thanks for your valiant efforts to correct this obituary. There is still one more correction to make. In the first paragraph of her obituary it says "Thelma Elizabeth Erickson was born to Don Erickson and Helga Lundquist." It should read that Thelma Elizabeth Erickson was born to John J. G. (not Don)Erickson and Helga Lundquist Erickson.Thanks again for trying. I know that it can be confusing when it is not your own immediate family and I thank you for your efforts on my behalf.
Swede was a wonderful and very loving person. I only heard from her once or twice after my husband passed on as we both got busy just trying to live life and take care of our families, but she really was a sweetheart.
