I am more than glad to transfer management of any entry that I am not directly related to. I think Find A Grave is a useful tool for family history searches, but personally I think it is awesome to have a place where EVERYONE can have their own little memorial space. Therefore many of my entries are not my family, but rather my effort to provide a memorial for as many as possible. I also welcome correction requests and will update any memorials that need it.|
THE RECORDING OF A CEMETERY
BY THELMA GREENE REAGAN
Today we walked where others walked
On a lonely, windswept hill;
Today we talked where other cried
For Loved Ones whose lives are stilled.
Today our hearts were touched
By graves of tiny babies;
Snatched from the arms of loving kin,
In the heartbreak of the ages.
Today we saw where the grandparents lay
In the last sleep of their time;
Lying under the trees and clouds -
Their beds kissed by the sun and wind.
Today we wondered about an unmarked spot;
Who lies beneath this hollowed ground?
Was it a babe, child, young or old?
No indication could be found.
Today we recorded for kith and kin
The graves of ancestors past;
To be preserved for generations hence,
A record we hope will last.
Cherish it, my friend; preserve it, my friend,
For stones sometimes crumble to dust
And generations of folks yet to come
Will be grateful for your trust.

|Allison Ford||Thank you|
Thank you so much for visiting my little guy Alex and for helping to keep his precious memory alive. It means more than words can express. Bless you, Allison

I thought it was very cool to find you on line. My husband's mother was a Hatfield from Kentucky/Tennessee. He is distantly related to Devil Anse Hatfield.
Thank GOD things have changed big time between the Hatfields' and McCoys'.

My pleasure, Rhonda, glad I could get it for you. Since I work close by, no reason not to get it and many others as well.

Thank you so much for transferring Calvin and Altha Alexander to me. It is re-uniting the Alexander family.
Thanks for taking this picture.

Thank you, I already found it. I always appreciate when someone gives me additional information for a memorial I've begun.
