Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in northwest Iowa and am a retired journalism/English teacher. My husband and I enjoy walking cemeteries and finding gravestones, wondering about the life of the person buried there. We are glad to help others learn about their family history.

Genealogy fits my personality... combining a love of research, computer, writing, photography, and family.

I have enjoyed meeting other individuals and chatting about their pursuit of their ancestors' information. Although one can never truly "finish" researching a family line, I set a deadline of July each summer to "finish" one family line and enter it in the local county fair. I have won Best of Show the past seven years and in doing so, have been able to reach out to others and help them learn how to start searching for their own ancestors.

That map is fabulous. I came over there to visit my great-grandparents for the first time ever, and we found SO many of my people there. You did a fabulous job, and I thank everyone involved for their efforts!
It was such a pleasure to explore the cemetery, then come home and explore the family links.

Thanks so much, Ann! I'm trying to get over there again to take some more photos, but I seem to have more good intentions than time. Recently discovered branch of my tree, so I appreciate your heading out to Pleasant Hill for me. :)

We are always at mercy of the weather especially when traveling. Nothing worse then showing up on an early sunny morning to find all the stones facing to the West! LOL!
