Bio and Links
Bio Photo Born in Marion County, South Carolina which is my main area of research. I'm currently going back over each of my memorials, trying to make links and see that each one is as complete as possible.

I prefer to have the names on my memorials reflect what appears on the stone. If there's no nickname or prefix/suffix on the stone or obituary I probably won't add it.

Dillon County was formed in 1910, carved from Marion County. If an obit or death certificate lists Dillon County as place of birth/death and it was before was actually Marion County.

Feel free to use anything I've added to this site, no need to ask my permission. I wouldn't add it in the first place if I didn't want it available to everyone.

My brother, Joseph Anthony Pellicci

RE: Transfer
I consider you the Marion County genealogist. When I post a memorial that I don't need, if it has a Marion County connection, I will transfer it to you.

Owens Cemetery near Gapway

Hi, Robin.

I saw your conversation with Jason about the Owens cemetery location. As you no doubt know it is not listed in "101 Cemeteries". I have been told there is only one stone marker standing in that cemetery. And that it is way off the road in the tall weeds.

It's also a fact that I-73 has maps showing it is to be going through the area where the cemetery is said to be if/when they actually start laying it off and building it. (I made notes of those cemeteries for the archaeologist they hired to survey historical places on the route, but they planned the route at those two cemeteries anyway. It would come very close to that Owens Cemetery and to the Lewis (Williamson?) Cemetery that is also supposed to be in that area.

I've been trying to find someone to go for years, before the interstate plows through. I hope Jason can get down in there this fall. Please share this message with him. I'm out of time today!
