Bio and Links
Bio Photo My name is Ellen. I live in the Bristol County area of Massachusetts which is centrally located between Boston and Providence.

Gravestone photography has been one of my favorite hobbies for many years. Nothing like spending a weekend afternoon browsing the gravestones in a cemetery! I'd much rather do this than shopping in a mall or doing household chores! :-)

I have been researching my family's genealogy for many years. I am a member of; which is where I do the bulk of my research. Years ago before the digital age, it was different. Much of my research back in the early days was by snail mail, going to town halls and libraries. I have kept every bit of correspondence with older relatives as well. Unfortunately the older generation is soon becoming my generation.

I am active with the DAR and CDXVIIC, and have coordinated several DAR and CDXVIIC graveside markings as well.

I have begun adding flowers and the "tree of life" to many of my ancestors' gravestones in Findagrave. If you happen to notice you are also related to me through one of these people, please contact me, as I would love to hear from you. I like "collecting cousins"!

Many times I add a cemetery research excursion while on vacation too! If there is a way to fit in a "side-trip" I will do it!

As many of you agree, a gravestone may be the only thing left in the world to remind us of someone departed.

I am very interested in viewing gravestones with the surname NOEL, NEWELL, TAILLON, LATAILLE and ALLAIRE. If you find some while on your treks through graveyards and cemeteries in New England, please contact me and post them.

I am also interested in seeing gravestones with the DAR and Colonial Dames insignia.

Thank you in advance!

Family names in New England I am researching are:

I don't see any Hannah Perkins in Old North Beverly. Are you sure you have the right cemetery?

Walker / Hardy (W. Fryeburg Cemetery)
Hello Ellen,
I took a ride out to Fryeburg Harbor the other day looking for Hannah Walker, Samuel Walker, Abigail Hardy and Jonathan Hardy. I found several headstones with these names on them, however, the dates are way off. There were quite a few Walkers and Hardys buried in this cemetery.
I would be happy to send the pictures to your email if you are interested in them. Perhaps they are related to the individuals you are looking for? Since the names are the same I do not think it is coincidence. Please let me know if you would like these photos.
