For what it is worth, I want to thank all the selfless members who volunteer to honor and respect those who have passed before us. To sincerely thank them for the countless hours that they have contributed walking the cemeteries photographing, creating & or maintaining memorials, and sharing that information with the millions that would not be able to see it otherwise.|
A special sincere thanks to all the people that have transferred memorials of my family members to me. I want to wish everyone a very healthy and prosperous 2016
I find it such an honor to be able to join people that have been separated for so long, especially children that died at birth, or passed at a very young age, often separated by many miles and years. Even if just virtual connection it always gives me a special feeling knowing that others might not have to dig around to find they even existed in the first place.
Please remember that I always try to portray as accurate data as possible and that I am a volunteer doing this out of the kindness of my heart. I have joined thousands of individual graves with their loved ones that are not even related to me and do this in hopes that it helps others in the future, please remember this before jumping to harsh conclusions and that this is also a work in progress and we can all make mistakes or interpret documents differently.
I thought I might borrow what Jeff Gonyea on his Find a Grave profile:
"We don't "own" the memorials we manage - they are not ours. We may create them, we may update them, we may transfer them to others - we are but stewards. They are Find A Grave memorials of human beings, departed. They are not "friends" on a social media network website to be collected like baseball trading cards. And there's no prize for the one who dies with the most.
The reward (for me) comes from maintaining the most accurate and dignified memorials I can. What we record becomes history, and a record in someone else's family tree. We have a responsibility to do a good job of it. It's a privilege and honor."
Well put Jeff, and I just wish more of the people could soak these words of wisdom in.
*If you volunteer on this website and decide you no longer want to maintain memorials, please transfer your records to someone who has an active account and are willing to take over management of the memorials. I am one of many willing to take over records. This really will help reduce duplicates.
You can email email@example.com if you have someone who has accepted stewardship over the memorials you added. Please send in their member number with your email. Feel free to contact me should you wish that someone maintain the memorials you have created. Thanks!*

Thank you for looking in the Brigham City Cemetery for Benjamin Hawkins. I now fear that the info I had was incorrect. Benj. has been hard to follow and his life had many unlikely events. This is one more event in his life that may be incorrect. I did not mean to send you on a hunt for someone who wasn't there. Sorry, thanks for your time.
I have added the children of Edwin & Elsie to Edwin's memorial. I omitted the stepchildren. It would be great if the person who made the memorial for Elsie would supply the dates for her children with DeBok.

Please feel free to use any of the photos that I add to Find A Grave. If using on your family tree, please only credit findagrave.com. And I am more than happy to be added as your friend.
What a lovely message you left with the memorial flower for Trasdy Plunk's memorial page #14574177. I was researching with all my might, attempting to link families together. Sometimes it seems thankless when contributors don't link the information I find, but your message with your memory flower was a nice ray of sunshine for us researchers.

I added the bio information as you requested and then saw the email asking for a transfer. I have transferred Amelia, Alvin and John Taylor. Please let me know if there are more individuals to transfer as I am of no relation. Please feel free to use any of the photos that I add to Find A Grave. And I am more than happy to be added as your Friend.
Have a great day and let me know if you need anything else, I live less than a mile from Woodlawn so if you need more pictures please let me know.

thankyou , and have a good day friend
Thanks for the heads-up about the duplication. I try not to create duplications, but sometimes I just miss the original. It's been deleted.

You may use my photo for Sarah Eldridge or for any other relative in this cemetery. I am not related to anyone in the Malta Ridge Cemetery.
I copied the gravestones in the Malta Ridge Cemetery so I could add them to a project I was working on to index as much as possible Saratoga County graves.
I appreciate your hard work to preserve cemetery records.
Data added. Thanks.
