Family Note: I am currently looking for a family member. Her name is Betsey/Betty/Bessie Norman Black. She was born in Fannin County between 1907-1909. I think she may have passed before 1968. If you have information on her, please message me.

Thank you for the note. Ron Calhoun wrote that there was no marker before the modern one, but the family had always known where James Norman Smith was buried. Ron said the county history also says he was buried beside his wife.

The marker for James Norman Smith is modern. Do you happen to know whether there was any marker before this one was placed there? Is it certain that he is buried where the marker is?

Find A Grave does not allow obituaries most of the time. You can read in the FAQ's the guidelines and resubmit in the Find A Grave format. I did att the edits you had requested.

RE: Ragland
It has days like that. I have the same problem. And with ancestry. I can turn it around and around, and it still comes out wrong.

I could have taken it and straightened it, and thought of it, but then your name would not appear on it, so I thought it better to tell you.

He is distantly related to me via my Vance line. If you will email to me your husband's connection to him, I will (more than likely) transfer to you.

Thank you!
