I consider the final resting places of those that came before us as hallowed ground. We owe it to them to protect these sites and preserve and honor their lives. If we lack compassion and caring for our dead, what kind of persons are we? |
"To live in the hearts we leave behind is not to die." ~ Thomas Campbell
"One can tell the morals of a culture by the way they treat their dead." ~ Benjamin Franklin
Please visit the cemetery website that I created to preserve and honor the lives of my ancestors who lived near Irving, Illinois: http://mccordcemetery.irvingmuseum.org
If you have suggestions, additions, or family links you'd like added to a memorial site that I have created, I am happy to accommodate as long as you have documented proof of the data you wish for me to add or change. If not, please enter your comments in the comment portion of the memorial in order to get your information on the memorial site and that way you are the source. I am a stickler for documentation because I try very hard to present correct information and the source of it for researchers rather than have undocumented information floating around the Internet from my contributions here at Find-A-Grave. Thanks for your understanding.

A year or so ago I was contacted by the family of Will Green. They had seen my information on Ancestry.com and contacted me. Posted his obit. showing that the dates on his headstone, and place he was buried were the same but his obit made no mention of his ever having been married. After talking to two other Boyd family members they said that no one had mentioned a marriage for her either. I now believe that "Green" was her middle name and was just done wrong on the headstone. Don't know how or if you want to change this.

Robert Mann was in the War of 1812 - I have documentation from Ancestry for this - I was wondering do you know if he has a marker for this? I couldn't see one in the picture of his headstone - I can request it if he doesn't - he would be my 5 gr grandfather my line then goes to his son Samuel -
Looking forward to hearing from you -

I'm looking for his burial place and anything else you can offer information/picture wise. I found your name on his second wife's information.
