Bio and Links
Bio Photo Shortly after the Moravian Church in the small town of Aurelia, ND. closed in the early 70's, an association was formed to look after the cemetery.
It was renamed the Aurelia Community Cemetery. I was elected to the board a few years later when one of the original members died. About ten years ago I helped my sister work on our family tree and now when I found Find A Grave, I realized how helpful it could have been.
This information was mostly taken from the tombstones at cemeteries I have visited, with some added from our family tree and ND death index files. I also get information from the Mouse River Loop Genealogy Society, of which I am a member. Most of these cemeteries are located in northwestern North Dakota.
With over 75,000 names in about 675 cemeteries, I'm sure I have made some mistakes. If anyone finds any errors or has more information let me know.I have photos (about 60,000) of the markers of most of the graves added in the last few years. I do not have time to add all these pictures but if someone requests one I will gladly add it if I have one. Please put Find A Grave in subject line.
Most of the obituaries I have added are from local funeral homes or old newspapers with their permission. All pictures that I have added were taken by me personally.

RE: Schocks on Find A Grave
Thanks Herb

This is my first time taking a bunch of pictures. I learned that if there is not two dates you assume it is a birth date. None of the headstones with only one date turned up any death info on Internet search.

Plus bug spray, long handled soft and stiffer broom of some kind. So long as I do not harm anything. A big air compressor would be nice.

Any other suggestions you have I will take.

Jim Headlee
Hi Herb -

I need your opinion. Back in 2006, you took a photo of Jim's marker. It appears it is a temporary marker. He died in 1923 and is buried in the Aurelia Community Cemetery.

The opinion. Do you think it's worth while in asking for a new photo? My gut feel it is not, but wanted to run this by you first. He was my 3rd cousin, twice removed. Looking forward in hearing back from you.
