Most of our information comes from Newspaper; Mortuaries or some type of historical Document.

A no marker means that we took it from a mortuary record and at time of burial no marker was placed at grave. A tombstone or marker may have been placed at a later date.

If we have contributor link listed; that data came as a request by someone after the original record was added.
We try to make changes as soon as we get the data but sometimes because of the number of requests we are backlogged. I have found requests in Spam mail. If we do not make the changes within a reasonable amount of time; please resend request and state 2nd request.
we try to check link requests before making changes if we dont have proof of relationship.
occasionally we have had requests to link wrong parents or spouses.

Please let us know if you see errors or typos.

We try to be accurate but sometimes it is late or we have trouble seeing a record or stone and sometimes we are just human and just cant type :) or read we appreciate all the people who spend their time working on the records. Hopefulliy this work will benefit generations to come.
Again please remember we are human and we do make mistakes. We do get a lot of requests for links; additional information and corrections,

What is a cenotaph? How do I have a memorial designated as a cenotaph?

A cenotaph is a tomb or a monument erected in honor of a person or group of persons whose remains are buried elsewhere. It can also be the initial marker for a person who has since been interred elsewhere.
To add a cenotaph, create a memorial just like any other. Then email with a link to the memorial and a message to mark it as a cenotaph.

I'm afraid you have the wrong tombstone picture for Garland McSwain. You have Luther and Gloria instead. Thanks, Janis Webb Babb

Tinsley, Hill, extended families
Thank you so very much for your time and efforts that help make Find A Grave possible. It means so very much to people like me who can no longer visit cemeteries. I have been on my genealogy journey since the 1980's and for a while was able to travel to cemeteries and find relatives graves. Now that is no longer possible and I am so much indebted to people like you who have made Find A Grave possible. I hope you will not mind my using copies of your photos, etc for my family files on Ancestry and Family Tree Maker. I am trying so hard to leave records for my extended family to be able to view their heritage. I want to leave a good clear trail for my children and grandchildren and even great grands. Thank you so much for your part in their records.

RE: leaving records.
I am so sorry that these things have happened to you. When Findagrave kept hitting me with the things they did, I too felt like I would quit. But thanks to a friend who helped me from the beginning I stayed. At first I transferred several cemeteries to others. Then I began to think, if I don't do this who will. I just want a person who is searching for their genealogy to be able to find help quickly and easily. I started researching over 30 years ago, back when all we had was libraries and archives to find info. Along with my father and brother we traveled many miles in different states, so many libraries and archives I can't even count. When I found the internet it helped, then Findagrave and it was a wonderful site, so much info. Obituaries, Death Certificates, Family lines, Census, ect., ect., ect. All in all a cornucopia of info. But alas, lately it seems the new owners don't want the info to flow. I will continue to try to supply info on my memorials as long as I can stand it. Again I am sorry for your frustration, don't give up, do what you can and remember there are some good folks out there, regards.

Just want to Know
Hello again. Would you please answer a question for me. As required by Find A Grave Rules, we can no longer scan obituaries to memorials. I now rewrite the obituaries in my own words, not verbatim and excluded any living persons, as required. Do you still want me to send obits this way. If you do not wish to enter such info, would you please let me know so I will not bother you anymore. According to Find A Grave Rules we can still scan death certificates, is it alright to add death certificates to your memorials? Thanks a regards.
