For me, photographing cemeteries has evolved from an interest in genealogy, nature, and a quest for understanding life. I enjoy following the paths of my ancestors, searching for their final resting places. I also enjoy fulfilling photo requests. Finding graves brings a rush that makes the search worthwhile. Photo volunteer work is just a small way of contributing and giving something back to others. Cemeteries are by nature peaceful places, and I enjoy the peace I find while searching. Yet, my favorite cemeteries are those that are filled with activity, either relatives visiting their loved ones, joggers, or people walking their dogs.

Currently Pekin IL is home base (but I love to travel).

Thank you so much for helping me. Leslie was first married to a McJunkin from my line. I found it interesting that their children went with their father when they ended the marriage. Melvina was the housekeeper for Leslie. They married about four years later. I found no records indicating his first wife married again. She is buried with the name of Leeds. I will add a note about the family plot. How kind of you to do all this for a stranger.

It's me again. I came across a problem. When I went to post the photo to my ancestry page I was directed to a second memorial for her under the maiden name...Melvinia E. Suitor # 15564286. Yours went to Leeds created years later by someone else.

Could you please post your photo again in the correct memorial? I always give credit in my tree to who posted the image. But if I place it in the correct memorial it will show my name. It should show yours.
I am sorry for the inconvenience. I have asked the person who created the duplicate to remove his.

Thanks so much, Dianne

What a surprise. A grave request filled from Illinois in January. I volunteer in my area but winter usually finds me doing my ancestry work.

This is what has led me to Pekin. After doing such a kindness I beg your forgiveness in asking another favor. If my chance you are in the area of Melvina's grave in the future would you mind checking to see if there is a main monument near her stone? I suspect there may be since she and her husband have no last name on their stones.

I love the way you expressed your love for doing this work. I haven't been able to get out as much as I'd like because I care for my 90 year old father going on five years now.

You have an impressive volume of work. Sometimes, I think people don't realize the dedication involved so thank you so much and may good health be with you as you continue the hunt.
