I am disabled veteran. I started doing family genealogy on behalf of my children and grandchildren. I am the first in my family to start a Massey Genealogy Tree. I believe in life, the joys, ups and downs. Life is short, this is my chance to help my family members who came before and those that will come after. My heart belongs to New England and Wisconsin areas. This tree is in honor of my father LARRY LEE MASSEY SR. and my mother MARY LOUISE KAENEMAN MASSEY. You both live on thru your children and Grandchildren. You will always be in our hearts, mind and souls. Your family misses you both so much. Look forward to seeing you both again.|

Hi, Glenn - I hope you're well and enjoying the New Year. In response to your recent message about Memorials #132067501 and #132066762 for Lucius Henry & Myrtle (POOLE) MASSEY, I appreciate your alerting me to the fact that the graves have apparently been moved. I should mention there is a third grave that was also evidently removed to Parkhill, namely that of their daughter Lucia Louise MASSEY (Memorial #132067403). I recognize your concern about duplication, but these are not duplicates; rather, they document the original interment of these individuals at Riverdale Cemetery. As you may observe, I have now updated my memorials, as well as the ones for Parkhill, and linked them all together. The reason for leaving these at Riverdale is to clear up any confusion, since there are records (death certificates, newspaper death notices, Sexton's online database, etc.) that report the initial burials at Riverdale. If I delete these Riverdale memorials, it's only a matter of time before someone else will come across one of the original burial records and add them again. (When creating memorials, we do make a good faith effort to search existing memorials first so as not to duplicate - however, the instance of graves being moved is relatively rare, and when we have a specific record stating burial in a particular place that is corroborated by other primary sources, it's not the normal procedure to cast a wide net to see if they may have been moved later.) I did make it a point to link the memorials for Myrtle's parents to her Parkhill memorial, so that anyone navigating to her from either of her parents' memorials will be directed to Parkhill. I hope this solution will be acceptable to you, and if know of anything I can add or correct on these memorials, please feel free to let me know. Thanks again - John

I say where you left a flower for Mary Rebecca Massey Bratton 63065481. I have been trying to find out who her parents were. If you know, will you link them to her memorial. She was a remarkable and very brave lady. Thanks G Agee.

I just joined this site. I think we're related. I know very little of my Massey side. My father is Jon Mark Massey. His father was Douglas Massey (I don't think he ever got a grave. His wife at the time was difficult.) Douglas had a brother named Earl Carlton Massey and Doug's father was named Carlton J. Massey. Carlton was married to a woman named Myrtle Parsons Massey.
Like I said I know very little about my Massey side. I live in California and I believe most of the Masseys have lived here for a while. Any light you can shed on them would be awesome. Thank you!

You are quite welcome. I actually took pictures of the whole cemetery a few years ago for two Parker sisters here in Abilene, Texas. It took me some three years, but I did their genealogy back to Nathaniel Parker. You might want to know that a Parker, and at the moment I can not remember which one started the Corinth Baptist Church and Cemetery. Also that 99% of the people in this little cemetery are related to this one parker gentleman.
I started this past week-end with all the request for the cemetery and am now adding the rest of the pictures I have taken for this cemetery. Hopefully I will have them all in real soon.

Hi Glenn, You may certainly add the photo to your family tree. Glad I could be of assistance. I
have some extended family at the cemetery so when I was in the area I took the photos. Glad I could help you that's what Find-a-Grave is all about! DR

Good morning. I have added dates and changed the name. I would be more than happy to transfer all my Massey memorials to you if you like. They are no relation to me. Have a blessed day.
