Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am disabled veteran. I started doing family genealogy on behalf of my children and grandchildren. I am the first in my family to start a Massey Genealogy Tree. I believe in life, the joys, ups and downs. Life is short, this is my chance to help my family members who came before and those that will come after. My heart belongs to New England and Wisconsin areas. This tree is in honor of my father LARRY LEE MASSEY SR. and my mother MARY LOUISE KAENEMAN MASSEY. You both live on thru your children and Grandchildren. You will always be in our hearts, mind and souls. Your family misses you both so much. Look forward to seeing you both again.

Glenn,
I indicated the wrong date on the stone, it is Aug. 19, 1897. I don't know what the correct DOB should be. On his draft registration cards, it indicates Aug. 19, 1897.
FYI

RE: Thurman William Massey # 143008822
Glenn,
I have transferred the memorial for your cousin Thurman William Massey to you.
I located the memorial at Brookside Memorial Gardens because his death certificate made it appear that he was interred there.
I am a Bussell descendant and came across Thurman's information as I researched the Bussell family and the family members who moved from Georgia to Texas.
Warmest regards,
Barry Stephens

No Problem at all ,Now we know what happened to his ashes as I see with Cremation the Ashes are usually spread among family members burial or someone cares for them. Karen

I was the original person who took the photo request. I found one of my ancestors buried there too. What took me by surprise was the overall condition of the cemetery.

I have photo's I would like to share with you that I took of your family. I didn't want to post them in the light they were in. I am thankful for the person who took the challenge after mine expired.

I will email you the photo's I have. I also looked into the history of the cemetery and found that more recently there has been a few legal issues filed regarding this cemetery.

In short I can also send you the documents I've collected showing who is in charge of the cemetery now, and how much their yearly budget is for maintaining the cemetery.

I've also thought of gathering or organizing some folks who would either like to help get that place back in shape.

Regards,
B Shields

Massey Family
Hi Glenn. I am very new to this site so I still have a lot to figure out. I believe you and I are indirectly related as I am also a direct descendant of William Walton Massey, Sr and Margaret Ward Massey. Dr. James Lloyd Massey is my great grandfather. I left a message for the person who created his memorial also. I would like a biography written for him and for my great grandmother as well. They also aren't linked to eachother yet. I'm still trying to figure everything out on the website, but am very excited to find out more. Thank you for creating the Massey memorials. Please let me know if I can do anything to help you. Thank you again. -Leshey Massey

RE: James Nathan & Mary Roberts Massey/ Weston Baptist Church Cemetery
You are very welcome. I'm glad I live close to the cemetery and was available to locate them for you. Their cemetery plot is well kept. The bench in the corner of their plot adds a restful, loving touch. ESJ
