First I guess that I should say that I have been doing this for the better part of my life. Almost 55 years.|
My early days included clipboard, many hours in the death certificate office and a Kodak 110 camera. I thought I was something when I got my first 35mm, and of coarse my 2 or 3 digital cameras I wore out the first 2.
Well Guess that's enough about me. I could ramble on and on.
Here is a list of my (Find a Grave's) policy on a few things .
PLEASE do not add birth or death certificates to my memorials!
I TRANSFER REQUESTS
We handle transfer requests in accordance with Find A Grave policy as quoted below. Please do not request a transfer unless the request follows those guidelines. Please note that transfers are only required if you are a direct relative within four generations per the Second section below. Below is Find-A-Graves transfer guidelines:
How do I get a relative's memorial transferred to me?
First, Determine if you really need the memorial transferred to you for management. Transferring of management should only be requested If you have extensive changes to make to a memorial. You can add photos and suggest corrections without having to request management. Simply having someone in your family tree is not grounds for a management transfer request. With hundreds of thousands of contributors, we have many overlapping family trees and it would be impossible for all contributors to manage their entire tree.
Second, Transfer requests should be for direct relatives within four generations. This would be your siblings, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Third, If you have extensive additions/changes to make to a memorial, please contact the Find A Grave member who created the memorial via the "Suggest a Correction" link under the "Edit" tab on the memorial in question with your request to have the memorial management transferred to you. This will send an email request to the contributor, even if there is not an email address listed on their contributor page.
Fourth, Explain your relationship in the request! Any non-direct relatives (aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) are not required to be transferred. Keep in mind that the original contributor may also be related to the memorial and may not make the transfer. Bulk surname requests should not be made. Be advised that memorials listed as famous or maintained by Find A Grave will not be transferred.
Fifth, The "Suggest a correction" feature may also be used to submit corrections, an original biography, and family links to memorials that do not fall under the above defintion. (Be sure to include the memorial ID#s for the family links and how they are related, father, mother or spouse. The original contributor should make any corrections and add any additional information you have for that memorial, such as links to parents and spouses, provided the information is accurate.
Sixth, Please note that it is not appropriate to request a transfer and then, after receiving the transfer, delete that page and substitute it with a new memorial that you have created. This practice denies credit to the original contributor. Please use the original memorial page to make updates and add information.
I always want to be here to help anyone that I can, so if you need anything, please message me.
Please, Please double check your corrections that you would like to have made on memorials. It's hard on all of us when we get 2 or 3 corrections.

Yes, I will do just that. It has been a while since I recieved James Winford death cert. I will check out the other family members and see who should be there. I sent the #'s you requested. Thank you,
|Traci Barbour||Amy Barber|
I haven't spoken to you in years - I hope this finds you well.
In your travels around Johnston, do you recall off the top of your head, locating a burial for an Amy Barber? The grave marker would be over 100 years old and could be just a handful of miles from Plyer Barber's burial location. I think you and Cherie went out there a couple years ago and located it.
|Deborah Hearn Dugdale||a huge thank you!|
Thanks so much for the D.A.Davis family links and edits. It was much appreciated. (Sorry this is a little late, we have had some heath problems lately, am usually better at getting back right away). Great work and much appreicated. Keep bumping into your name. All the best!
|Saralyn Johnson||Susan Bryant|
I am researching my Grandfather's family name of Bryant. You have a picture of my 2nd Great Grandmother's headstone. I was wondering if you have pictures of others around hers? Is there a spouse? This is the information from your picture. Thanks so much for any help!

|Kevin Roberson||RE: J T Huff Farm|
Thanks, That would be great!
|Kevin Roberson||J T Huff Farm|
Due to your interest in the Huff family, I thought you would be one to ask. There is a Coley Family Cemetery listed on findagrave in Vance County.
The description is as follows:
North Carolina USA
Cemetery notes and/or description:
source: Historical Records Survey of North Carolina, 1940, Worker: John J. Adams
Location: On the farm of J. T. Huff, 8 miles from Henderson, N. C. R. 2.
(directions from 1940)
Do you know where this "farm of J.T. Huff would have been?
|David Stanley||RE: Mildred Odell Stanley Langdon|
Sorry it has taken so long to respond. I rarely look at this page. Anyway I live in Chantilly VA. just outside Washington DC. Mildred was my father's sister. I would really like to discuss this with you so please give me a call. My number is 703-626-3140.
My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Look forward to hearing from you.
|David Carter||RE: Charlotte Blanche Carson Young|
I have Carter relatives on both sides of my family, not related so far as I can tell. I don't know the names Oren or Elsie, but then I went to school with other Carter's that were not related.
You can transfer that memorial to me if you like. It took me a while to find it. Thought it would be in a Youngsville cemetery, since that's where she lived. Wound up in same cemetery as her parents and my grandparents.
|RTerry||RE: Re: Joan Canning|
Her son is also buried there. Wondered if the connection was thru her mother's family.

|RTerry||Re: Joan Canning|
Despite guidelines I will do it. I do have a question. Almost all of the folks in that cemetery are related to me - some very directly and others distant. I could never figure out how Joan was connected to the families there. I know her parents are there, but could never make any other connections.
