I have been climbing around|
on my Family Tree, swinging
on it's branches, and digging
at it's roots for over
30 years, (since 1975).
I have been widowed since 1991, retired in 2005.
I LOVE Find-A-Grave. It is a wonderful
asset to the genealogy world.
If I've created a record that someone
needs to correct, update or add
information, please let me know and
I'll be glad to add your information
for you;... or if the person is your
direct family member, and you would
like to have me transfer "ownership"
of that memorial page to you, please
let me know...If that person is not
related to me and they are directly
related to you; I will be glad to
transfer their memorial to you.
However, I want to note:
Nearly all of the memorials that I
have created are connected to my
family tree and are a result of a
lot of years hard work and research.
To all the members who have been
kind enough to transfer "ownership"
of my family members to me....
I THANK YOU!
Find A Grave is one of my favorite
It has given me a place that I can
remember my loved ones and honor
If you have time, please leave a flower
for my dear husband, Roy E. Hughes.
I just lost my Daddy & Momma
within 3 weeks. Please be patient,
I am way behind in answering request.
PLEASE do not post death certificates
on my memorials.....Please,,,they are

I found this obituary and thought you might want to add this as a bio to the find a grave site.
Her full name must have been Edith Emmeline Shone.

Holly Springs, Miss.
November 24, 1898
Shawnee Items---On Saturday morning, November 12, Mrs. Emmeline Shone (nee Ferrell) departed this life at her home on Snow Creek, and on Sunday, November 13, the friends and neighbors gathered at Mt. Zion Cemetery to pay their last tributes of respect to one who had lived a long life in their midst. She had been sick many months with cancer.

LoRetta: Thank you for the transfer. What a very nice surprise it was to find it among my e-mails this morning. When I was a child back in the 1940s and early 50s, we lived about 100 yards from that old graveyard, or what was left of it, and I was always curious about it, not knowing that the burials were those of my ancestors and family. I moved away just after 1960, and it was after retirement and from a distance that I devoted time to figuring out who they were and where they came from. I am very grateful for the work that you and others have done to memorialize them.

|Dana||Boyer Family in Cocke Co, TN|
Hi! I am working on my Boyer/Boyers family of Tennessee and Mississippi. I see you have the family of Isaac Boyer(s). Is this a direct line of yours? I'm specifically looking at his 1850 census in Cocke Co, TN. In it, there is a 21-year-old James Boyers who I believe might be a son of my John M. Boyers. If so, I thought James might be John's nephew... which would make John and Isaac brothers, but I see you don't have them listed.
Anyway, I was wondering if you knew who this 21 year old James was who was living with Isaac in 1850? Also, there are other children listed there who are not in your list that I would have guessed were his children.

PLEASE: A burial location is needed to fill your photo request. The Sparkman Hillcrest (SH) office will not readily provide locations to volunteers. Please call them at 214-363-5401 and they will be glad to help you. The SH office is open on Saturday and Sunday. Let me know the location and I will be honored to fulfill your request, typically within a day or two. If you created the memorial and prefer to edit the memorial to show the plot location, that would be fine as I check the SH photo requests regularly as do other volunteers. Thanks for your assistance.

What a nice gesture on your part, LoRetta.

Thank you so much you really did not have to do that as long as you added the info. I seldom ask for transfers any more as long as the info is added. Appreciate all your work, it helps tremendously. God Bless
