Bio and Links
Bio Photo I believe strongly in helping other researchers through volunteering projects. I survey cemeteries (obviously!), I do free lookups via Rootsweb's "Books We Own" and and I am FamilySearch Indexer/Arbitrator. If you need a picture of a marker in Columbia Co, Richmond Co or McDuffie Co, Georgia, let me know. (I will also go to other counties in the area but it might take me longer to get the photo).

I have been doing research for 20+ years, the bulk of which centers around the deep south covering the states of AL, GA, LA, MS, NC, SC, TX, and VA. Some of my direct line surnames are Simmons, Perry, Patton, McMichael, Seegar, Graham, Grantham, Slade, Yates and Lee. My husband's direct line surnames are Lewis, Wood, Maddox, Morris, Young, Spires, Reese and Blackstone.

If I have added one of your direct line ancestors to Find-A-Grave and you would like the memorial transferred to you, just hit the "edit" tab on the memorial and then click on "suggest a correction or provide additional information." It is easier for me to keep up with requests that way. If you see a mistake in something I have added, you can get that information to me the same way.

All of the photographs I take are protected under federal copyright law. If you want to use one of my photographs all you have to do is ask.

RE: Abraham Waller Marshall
Such a pleasure to hear from you! I received this memorial from two of my Waller cousins & it was then as it is today. I see you have contacted her. She is a lovely person & is now a widow. Her husband published an enormous amount of Waller data, especially about those who left Virginia for the South.

RE: Ballard Road Cemetery
I am the director of Hickory Hill, a historic site owned by the Watson-Brown Foundation. The Junior Board group that we sponsor gives out grant money for historic preservation in the CSRA. We've worked with cemeteries, museums, etc to do projects. Patsy Jones, a Tankersley descendent, contacted us to help with the cemetery.

Ballard Road Cemetery
Hi Michelle,

Our historic preservation group has been working on cleaning up and resetting stones at this cemetery. I spoke with the Historian at Georgia DOT to see if they had any maps showing the cemetery. As of 1909, the cemetery is known at "St. Luke's Cemetery" (Ballard Rd didn't exist yet) and was associated with a school and church behind it. Local residents also know it as St. Luke's.

RE: Alexander Bush
Michele, There are a few memorials that I noticed for the surname Bush being listed in Sun Cemetery and First Baptist Church Cemetery in Sun as duplicates. I was researching the surname Bush when I noticed this. Thanks Pat
