The earth will never be the same again.
Rock, water, tree, iron share this grief
As distant stars participate in pain.
A candle snuffed, a falling star or leaf,
A dolphin death, O this particular loss
Is Heaven-mourned; for if no angel cried,
If this small one was tossed away as dross,
The very galaxies then would have lied.
How shall we sing our love's song now
In this strange land where all are born to die?
Each tree and leaf and star show how
The universe is part of this one cry,
That every life is noted and cherished,
And nothing loved is ever lost or perished.

RE: Harlem Memorial Cemetery
I am interested in the Ft Gordon requests. Will look into it. I rarely get requests since Ancestry took over and I don't remember to check. If you get anymore, please forward to me.
Have a pleasant day. Ann

RE: Harlem Memorial Cemetery
The member in question asked Find A Grave to remove it but they would not for him...I think you will have to contact them.

Glad to see you are still active in Find A Grave, I've slowed down a little.

I see you added a photo of Ruben Crandall and wondered what kind of history you may have on this family. My 3rd great grandfather was Benjamin E Crandall who lived around Ingham, Shiawassee, and Livingston Co. Michigan. I believe that he is the brother of Ruben and son of Thomas but am looking for proof. Hope you can help.

Harlem Memorial Cemetery
Hi Monica:
I was wondering if you will change or delete your top photo of the HMC sign. We have since taken this small sign down and added the sign showing in the bottom lineup...a large new wrought iron sign.

Wishing you a wonderful new year.

Aerial photo

You can view the aerial photo at the link below... I went there to fulfill a photo request and used the photo to show the exact location of one gravesite in this very large cemetery.

Simpson/White Family History
Greetings. I came across quite a bit of family history you put up on decendants of the Simpson family. My ancestor is Martha Simpson White

You had information on one of her siblings. Looking to compare what we each have. Thanks! You can email me at or phone 231.884.1758.

Grave of Rev. Stephen Powell
Monica, I have in my notes that a bronze marker was erected when Rev. Stephen Powell's grave was moved from Johnson Burial Ground to Grandview. Could you tell me if this is correct?
