Thank you very much. Of great interest is her infant daughter Sarah Elizabeth 18 Apr 1826 is inscribed at the bottom of this stone, what a surprise. The engraving is beautiful, however it is a little difficult to read the words after the death date i.e.: looks like "aged __5 da. I just put up a memorial for Sarah tonight and ordered a photo. Bill Preston - her ancestor.

Thanks once again for your hard work and generosity! BTW, Martin Buss' father Benjamin was a Rev. War veteran from Lancaster MA and Martin's wife was descended from the Putnams (mother's side) and Sibleys (father's side) of Salem Witch Trial fame.

Martin's home still stands across and just down the street from the Old Cemetery (old Peter Tufts house).

I am descended from the Buss' son Cyrus Buss who relocated to Jersey City in the 1860s.

Great, thanks! I am interested in these, especially Martin and Eliza:

Buss, Elcy Maria, daughter of Joseph & Eley P., died Dec. 4, 1850, age 16 yrs
Buss, Eliza M., wife of Martin, born May 2, 1798, died Mar. 27, 1855
Buss, Martin, born Jan. 1, 1800, died Dec. 12, 1871
Buss, Polly S., wife of Deacon Benjamin, died May 6, 1850, age 55
Buss, Sarah Elliott, daughter of Martin & Eliza, died Jan. 16, 1846, age 14 yrs 3 mos
Buss, Warr_n_ [looks like Warrene or Warrone], died April 9, 1868, age 33 yrs

Meanwhile back in Phoenixville (Gen. Lyon cemetery), Nancy Hayward is there with the Thomases you photographed, but I wonder what became of her husband William Hayward (1758-1834) who is not listed anywhere? Maybe he's in Ashford?

Sue, you happened to photograph a whole set of my ancestor's graves in the General Lyon Cemetery! I knew they were there via transcriptions but being in LA, I never expected to actually see the stones. The inscriptions visible in your photos enabled me to pinpoint geographic locations of the family's origins and unlock up to 8 more generations on one side! Thanks again.

If you ever get up to the Old Cemetery on Westford Road in Eastford I have some people there too ;-)
