I live in Middletown Springs, Rutland County, Vermont. I work mostly on cemeteries in Rutland County and neighboring Washington County, NY. I'll try to fill photo requests in those areas.|
If you are related to any of my memorials I'll be glad to transfer management outside Find-A-Grave guidelines unless it is a relative of mine or is in a family that I am actively researching. Please send transfer requests through the Edit tab on each memorial.
If you would like to see my sources for any corrections I suggest, please just ask. I research every fact I submit and only suggest those corrections that I believe come from a reliable source.
Some of the families I'm researching, primarily in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont, are Brown, Horton, Fisher, Fielding, Gilson, Ripley, Hawkins, Treadwell, Jennings and Northrup. I'm also researching Arsenault and Brideau in Massachusetts, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

|MT1950||RE: Benjamin Beers No. 45136108|
Thank you, John.
I just started checking on the Beers family now, so no I haven't - but surely will check Ancestry as I know it is a great source of info.

Cleaning up old messages - emphasis on old! We finished Walnut Grove last spring - Lewis was one of the first oddities we noted, as time progressed, more and more turned up, duplicated records, people buried somewhere other than where the online records indicate, the list went on and on. Roughly 10% of the online records have errors of one kind or another. We did the best we could to straighten it out, but even after spending a year on the cemetery, there are still 20% of the memorials missing photos.
|Nancy Borman||RE: Parker memorials|
Thank you John. I'll take good care of them.

I was happy to find the Parker memorials for Brookside Cemetery in West Boxford, Mass. If you are not related to the following people, would you consider transferring management to me? They are my gg-grandparents and ggg-grandparents.
Gilman Parker (#31492242)
Lydia Parker (#31492244)
Aaron Parker (#36244232)
Priscilla Parker (#36244292)
Thank you for your consideration.
|Hunter||Manuel Northup, Bethany Cem., Truthville, NY|
Hello John. Only learned a few days ago that Manuel Northup is a distant cousin. Would like to share the following. Source: Ancestry.com, Probate Records, Surrogate's Court, Washington Co., NY, Wills, Vol. A2-B2, 1830-1845, page 29. Manuel made his will on May 6, 1834, and it was probated on November 10, 1834.
An entry in Granville Cemetery Inscriptions, Washington Co., New York, pub. in 1993, page 14, Bethany Cemetery, Truthville, North Granville, NY, gives only his name and an incorrect death date. It reads: Northup, Manuel, d. May 3, 1834 in 49th y.... A notation follows : 4 badly worn, could be 1831 in 19th y.
Census records indicate that the year range of his birth was 1785-1790, which would favor the Granville Cemetery Inscriptions reading of 49 years of age, and 1785 his year of birth.
Your photo shows that there is other information on Manuel's headstone. Is any of that other information legible - even partially? Could the photo be edited in any way that might reveal anything more on that headstone? One source found records that he was married to an Abigail Eldred - or possibly Eldridge. Is that name on the headstone - and is she also buried there?

|Glen Swartz||RE: Find A Grave Memorial# 69760785|
Hi John, no I can not. I tried to find them, but Nicholas is one of the stray's I can't place.
|Glen Swartz||Find A Grave Memorial# 69760785|
Dear John, would you kindly removed the parents of Nicholas Jenks? I've worked on the Jenks for decades.
I had the same parents, but after further research, specifically the town records of Clarendon, he was clearly not one of the children of James Jenks and Phebe.
What you have was published in the Jenks Genealogy by Browne and this is one of the errors he made in that book.
|Kathy Jennings Brown||RE: Edward Cordo|
I'll check. Give me some time to look back on this.
|Joyce Newman||Arathusa Newton Brewer|
Hi, I am helping an applicant to the DAR who is a descendant of Arathusa and Jonathan Brewer. I am searching for supporting document(s) to prove that Arathusa was the daughter of Jason Newton, of Ira, VT. Since he had 17 children, and VT early records are slim, do you know of a reliable source to prove Arathusa's birth, linking her to either her father or mother (Lydia Collins)? Unfortunately, I am not able to use the "Newton Genealogy" book.
Thanks for any help/guidance you can provide.
