|Linda Kestner||RE: Old German Cemetery|
Thanks for your response, Rob. Oh my...hopes that I had at long last found John and Martha (Wettlaufer, Kestner, Bowers) have just this week been dashed. The John who died in 1888 is not my guy...by accident found him indexed as "Bauer"in 1900, a widower at age 65 with three children and a baby still at home: George, 22, and Katherine and what appears to be a twin sister, Margaret. One of the girls has had a baby girl in 1900. So, my John and Martha were reliably living in Mansfield boro in 1880 and now in Scott in 1900. John has been out of work for five months...only George is working as a coal miner. If John is nearing his death, where would such down-and-outs decide to bury their father? Katherine would soon be more prosperous after marrying a Haught and our dear Caroline has already married a Coneby...but neither one will be found out shopping for years. What did such people do with their dead? Oh, what agony...they surely had no money for milk for a baby! Anyway, thanks again -- sorry for the bum steer. I'll get back to you if and when there is a positive ending for this story. Just nice to know you are still there doing important work!

|Linda Kestner||Old German Cemetery|
Hi Rob and Debi...you always say you remember me from searches you did at WPGS: KESTNER et al. I'm a little bit closer to finding my Martha Wettlaufer Kestner Bowers because her daughters: Caroline and Catherine married CONEBY and HAUGHT husbands, well documented in Washington County. From that research, I think I've found the girls' father, John Bowers, buried in Old German Cemetery, Penn Hills. Problem is that the fellow who entered many graves there has died and now there's an outstanding list of requested photos. I put the question out there on the Forum but so far no takers. Tell me, do you know about this Cemetery? Are there any records at WPGS regarding burials? From the few photos I've seen, the stones are in poor condition and transcription would have been difficult for a long time now. Of course, you see what I'm after -- if John Bowers, b. 22 Aug 1836 - d. 08 Dec 1888, is there, b. "German Lutheran" on 10 Dec 1888, surely Martha is there too as death record says he was "married".
Please tell me what You recommend: should I wait for someone at Findagrave or should I pay a professional and if so, who? I'm guessing there isn't any stone to be seen...but surely some burial records are still in existence. Any advice for me? Many thanks. Linda Kestner, Jacksonville OR firstname.lastname@example.org
|KEN DOTY BROWN||Louther Robert|
Now that I have looked at this closely, you are correct. Robert is the son of William, not James.
I will get back to you with more information and questions.
|KEN DOTY BROWN||RE: Robert Louther|
I rec'd your message. I will look into the problem and get back to you on Thursday.
I have 2 Margaret Fi(a)lloons in my tree. One the daughter of Daniel, the other the daughter of John. I am not even sure that Daniel and John are related, but I believe they are brothers.
Will be in touch.

Thank you so much for transferring her memorial to me. I have looked for her for so many years, and all that time, she was right under my nose! Thank you so much for finding her for me and for all the work you do. It is much appreciated!
|9cvxvck02||RE: William Beverage|
Thank you, and I'll continue to look for the Robert Beveridge who married Anna Stevens Powell. I've checked my own database, but the Roberts that I've found in it were married to other women. Again, thanks for transferrring William Warren Beveridge.
|Brian J. Ensley||Irvin G. Gindlesperger|
I deleted my memorial and adjusted the one you transferred to me (thanks!) by adding more information and linking to other family.
|Harold howell||Somerset County Memorial Park|
Is it hard to get the office to help you find graves. I know that it will cost me 5 dollars if I ask for anymore locations of my relatives in the cemetery!
Also I need to thank you for getting me the headstone of Eleanor Will, Robert Roy, Cathy Lynn Saylor, Mary Wright, William Langley
Thanks So Much
You Have Helped Me So Much
