I've been researching my family history for about 20 years, gathering information on the LaRoche, Grimball, Jenkins, and other interrelated families of the SC Sea Islands. I enjoy both internet and library research and reconciling conflicting information.|
I enjoy scrapbooking, shrimping, and most outdoor activities.

|William Low||RE: Edward Harrison|
I think I might have found what was confusing for the volunteer searching for Edward Guilford Harrison. The cemetery on Find a Grave lists Yonges Island as the address when it should be Hollywood. The Hollywood area, according to Google Maps, does not include Yonges Island. Google Maps give the address as 4981 State Road S-10-1160 Hollywood, SC 29449, and I've matched the church in the Find a Grave photo to Google Maps Street View:
The church by the cemetery is actually across the street and a bit up the road from St Paul.

Somebody looked for Edward Harrison's grave (34343768) to take a photo but could not find it. As the creator of the memorial, are you reasonably sure that he is buried there?
|Tina||RE: Mary LaRoche|
The reason I questioned the two chidren named James is because the dates imply that they were both living at the same time. James LaRoche 1847-1850 was still alive when James LaRoche 1848-1851 was born. I know most of my ancestors practiced the habit of recycling names among their immediate family. Also the memorial implies the two James as half siblings. I know James LaRoche (Sr)(my gg grandfather) first married Mary Olivia Bailey and after her death married Henrietta Reynolds Sams(sister of my gg grandfather John Hanahan Sams).
James LaRoche and John Hanahan Sams came to Florida together to homestead and built my ancestral church, St. Luke's Episcopal Church Courtenay(Merritt Island) Florida. I lived in the John H. Sams House until I was married which is now a listed building.

I have linked his mother and father. If this is your family, I would be happy to transfer him to you.

If you are not related, would you mind transferring the following memorials to me? These two are my grandparents:
Memorial# 34343788 Linda Elizabeth L. Hiott
Memorial# 34343786 Junie Clarence L. Hiott, Jr.
|Kim Morrow||Joseph S Hart, Jr|
Are you related to Joseph S Hart, Jr or his family. He was my Great Uncle Joe. I grew up on Belvidere on Johns Island next door to him.

Thanks for all your work on listing the Rebel Troop veterans' graves. My gg grandfather is William Beckett Hills, older brother to George Washington Hills. I'm still searching for his grave. His 1st wife Martha Cannon Hills is buried at Johns Island Presbyterian. I believe he is buried on James Island (family plantation was there), but haven't located his grave yet. Plan to get a stone from the VA sometime, and may place it in McClellanville where his son John Terry Hills is buried.
