RE: Dr Benjamin Mairs progress
Hello Don,
I'm sorry that I did not see your message earlier, busy summer.
I think that Dr. Benjamin Mairs #29312996 is the son of Benjamin and Rachel Mairs. If you look closely at the 1850 census of Island Creek, OH, you can see that the age given for Benjamin and Rachel is "77," but the second "7" is easily mistaken for a "1."
This would make Benjamin Sr. 20 at the time of Dr. Benjamin's birth.
I also THINK that several people have confused the medical credentials of Benjamin Mairs Sr. with that of his son, Dr. Benjamin Mairs.
Given Benjamin Sr. age at the time he was having children (Late teens, early 20's), it would seem more likely that Benjamin was a farmer, and not attending university. Of course, that is only a guess.
I did find where Benjamin and Rachel sold 200 acres of land in the Sandyville area of WV. when they were in their 60's, but I have found no indication that they ever lived there.
Any thoughts?

John

Well, I can't say for sure as my husband walked half the cemetery and I did the other half. Who else are you looking for?

RE: Bethiah Grout
From Find-a-Grave's Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I add a memorial when I'm not sure what cemetery they are buried?

This is similar to adding a memorial for cremation. Do not create a new cemetery which does not exist in order to add these memorials. Location of body unknown should be used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition should be determined and updated within 30 days.

Another way to do it is to create a hyper link linking to relatives in the bio section:

http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?searchArg=html&page=listFaqs#52

Thanks,

Ryan

I typed a little message when I declined your edit.

I do not knowingly link to parents/spouses when their memorial says burial location unknown.

It has come up several times on find-a-grave. Some contributors feel like simply adding their family tree to find-a-grave even if they do not know of the cemetery location but that is not how this site is supposed to work. So then a contributor does find a gravestone for that person and then they also make a memorial - and now there are 2 memorials for the same person. And most times the original creator will not delete theirs.

I've had to contact find-a-grave several times to have memorials deleted that are duplicates with burial location unknown.

I appreciate your efforts though.

Sorry,

Ryan-O
