Military ranks, added as name prefixes on memorials, are reserved for those who were killed in action or died on active duty. For all others who served, their rank will be shown in the inscription field of the memorial, if it is engraved on their headstone, and/or with a 'V" designation by the name

Best way to do an edit. Managers are not always active and may not do a message.

Correct way to fix an edit - If you don't fix it, you may have to wait 21 days.

How to Delete an EDIT - so you can fix it.
1. Open your profile page
2. Click on Suggested Edits
3. Click on Suggestions I've Sent
4. Default is Approval Pending
5. I use Sort By (right side) change it to Date Created
6. Find the error in the list and press CANCEL
7. Press Remove

8. Redo the edit and all the family links and other edit before press Save Suggestions

To replace information just over write the old with the new
To delete information just remove what is there. Leave it blank.
If you cut and paste a number from the memorial you might have to remove the trailing space.

To add information do the below
Many manager don't read messages or emails
1. Go to memorial
2. Click on Suggest Edit
3. Enter Name, Birth and death information
4. Enter the Memorial ID number for Father, Mother or Spouse
To replace information just over write the old with the new
To delete information just remove what is there. Leave it blank.
If you cut and paste a number from the memorial you might have to remove the trailing space.

5. Fill in ALL the information you want to edit.
6. Save Suggestions -- Do this only when ALL the information is entered.

Edits could take up to 21 day before being added.

I have been getting a number of weird requests in the last few months.
1. I double check all requests.
2. If you request a transfer and you tell me they are your relatives. Then I must assume they are my relatives too. I have the better claim. Tell me how your related!

On ancestry.com they have "U.S., Burial Registers, Military Posts and National Cemeteries, 1862-1960", don't trust the index, LOOK at the IMAGE! The last column says what happen to the body.

The name should be "What happen to those who died at the Wood VA hospital"
