| Bio and Links | HI, I AM 59 RETIRED,AND AN AVID GENEALOGIST.I JUST RECENTLY STARTED LOOKING FOR REQUESTS FOR TOMBSTONE PICTURES,AND REALLY ENJOY THE SEARCH.FAMILY HISTORY IS VERY IMPORTANT TO ME,AND IF BY TAKING PICTURES,I CAN IN SOME WAY SAVE A LITTLE PART OF PEOPLE'S HISTORY,THEN I FEEL LIKE I'VE ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING. I LIVE IN ODESSA,TEXAS,AND WILL GLADLY CHECK OUT CEMETERIES WITHIN A 200 MILE RADIUS, AND FARTHER IF I CAN. IF I HAVE MADE A MISTAKE OR IF I LIST SOMEONE THAT YOU WANT TRANSFERRED ,LET ME KNOW.

| William Virgil Davenport
Hi Ladonna,
I saw the photo that you took of William Virgil Davenport's gravesite. I am trying to find out if he is the William Davenport that I served with in the Navy. I have an old Navy roster that listed him being from Crane, TX. I do the website for our old Navy Group of 50 plus years ago. We have a "Taps" page for all the "shipmates" that have passed. You can view it at http://slugger-shipmates.org/taps.html I don't like to add anyone to the list unless I am reasonably sure that they have passed. I searched the National VA grave locater for Bill but he is not listed. I assume that it is because he is buried in a family plot where you took the photo. I was hoping that his stone would indicate that he had been in the U.S. Navy.
I had one telephone number for a Luther Davenport in Crane, TX but it is disconnected. I am hoping that you might know something about him or know of a Davenport in Crane that I might contact. I am fairly certain this is the Bill Davenport that I am searching for, but would like to make sure. Thanks for any assistance.
