Bio and Links
Bio Photo I have been working on my own family tree since about the Fall of 1999. I started this project by doing transcripts of my own family's cemeteries and taking photos of the stones. I am sure this is how most folks get started doing this kind of thing.

On my father's side, I am researching these names; Campbell, Clouse, Donalson, Edwards, Elam, Engle, Faris/Farris, Gillum/Gilliam, Harris, Hodge/Hodges, Hutton, Keck, Owsley and Riddle at this time. These surnames are from Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Texas, with ties to England, Germany and Scotland.

On my mother's side, I am researching these names; Cantley, Clay, Gibbs, Rorrer/Rohrer and Turner at this time. These surnames are from Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia, with ties to Switzerland, Germany and England.

You have my permission to use any photos posted here as long as it used for research and not for profit.

Amos W. Hall

Do you have documentation regarding Amos W. Hall migrating from Ireland with his brothers? He is my paternal great grandfather and I have never found any information about him migrating from there. All the records I have say that he was born in North Carolina.

re Michael Guy Simmons
Hi Ed,

You're showing that I'm dead, but it is my son (Michael LaVon Simmons) who should be on this page. I think the funeral home (Westoaks) that made this mistake.

Thanks, and if I can help clear anything up, please let me know.

RE: Stansberry Cemetery

There are two cemeteries with just about the same spelling of the name.

Stansbury 135 people in this one

This Main big one is on American Greeting Road. If you come from Corbin it is on your Right hand side and if you are going fast you will miss it.
It is not far past Corbin Manner apts. This Cemetery has cameras and a man across the road most of the time will come great you if you are there two long. This Cemetery has graves in the woods that need to be cleaned to be found..

Is on out the road and is up in the woods and there are not many people that know it is there.
There are just rocks for stones and trees have taken it over so it will be lost in a few years.
My brother N Law can give better details on this one.
So when you get ready to visit let us know and we will get better directions for you.

Stansberry Cemetery North Corbin, Laurel County, Kentucky, USA

Elam, Daniel D - 23971664 b. Mar. 28, 1826 d. Feb. 19, 1916
Harp, Sallie - 7527641 b. Jun. 25, 1881 d. Sep. 18, 1915
Stansberry, Eliza J. - 7527638 b. 1856 d. Jul. 8, 1948
Stansberry, Samuel L. 7527634 b. 1855 d. Feb. 3, 1935

Hope this help
